I am a guitar teacher and I use this book to introduce students to the notes on the guitar. The reason I like to use it is the abundance of fun songs to practice notes on each string. Many beginner books are lacking in this.

I picked this book up after signing up my 8 year old for lessons. His teacher reccomended this book to teach him with. Not only is my son picking it up quickly, I play guitar and cannot read notes and am learning also. The CD is great for learning the timing and giving you something to play along with. I am very impressed with this book and highly reccomend it to everyone who wants to learn. It seems basic at first but thats how we need to start, with the basics!!!

If you have a guitar student who is in the age range of eight to twelve, the Wolf Marshall Guitar Method Primer is an excellent tool for getting the young student to understand the basics of note reading and song composition.
