Amazon.com Product Description

The year is 1943. You are William "B.J." Blazkowicz, the Allies' bad boy of espionage. Your mission is to infiltrate the Nazi fortress and find the plans for Operation Eisenfaust, the Nazi's blueprint for building the perfect army. Captured in the attempt, you're taken to a Nazi prison where you await execution. However, you know where the plans are kept, and the Allies face a great defeat if you don't escape and risk the horrors of the prison known as Wolfenstein. Playing as an escaped prisoner in a Nazi war prison, you will move smoothly through a 3-D world full of guards, snarling canines, and rooms packed with Nazi treasure. With 60 action-packed levels full of secret passages and hidden rooms, Wolfenstein 3D for Game Boy Advance will appeal to audiences from the novice to the experienced.

Note: This is a rare M-rated GBA game, and is not appropriate for those under 17.

Product Description

You know the shot heard round the world? You could consider Wolfenstein 3-D to be the gaming version of that. That first shot from BJ Blazkowitz fathered countless games over the years including a revisit to the castle nine years later and this faithful GBA port. While the original was preceded on PCs by its cousin Catacombs 3-D, Wolfenstein 3-D had a much greater impact on the industry and gamers making it one of the most influential games of all times. Along with its younger brother DOOM, Wolf 3-D popularized the 3D FPS, and started a new revolution in gaming.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best F.P.S. for GBA(Along with Ecks Vs. Sever), April 23, 2002

Wolfenstein3D is, is hands down, awsome! The graphics are pixilized up close and far away, but what do you expect from a handheld virson of an early 90's fps.

There are only 4 weapons but they are awsome. It's a little gory, buts that's one of the best things about this game. All in all this game is one of the best I've played(Along with Ecks Vs. Sever). I recomend this game to older kids about 10 and up but parents probably won't let younger kids buy this because ok racial swasticas and gore.

4.0 out of 5 stars Original as it gets, April 5, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Wolfenstein 3D (Video Game)
Well first of all I had to go to Electronics B. to get this game.. I just had to have it and it seems that EB has ESP because they seemed to know I had to have it too and charged 42.99 for it.. Wow for a GBA game.. Is that legal? Ok to the game.. The graphics if you ask me are exactly the same as the original.. maybe a little (little better).. hmm no background music although I can't think if the original had it or not.. As for customization ; brightness and turning speed can be controlled. Lets face it .. it seems the GBA was not cut out to do this kind of stuff although this is the best I have seen so far.. Doom in my opinion really was done horribly if I was playing that in a moving vehicle with those poor graphics and controls i would be sure to vomit. With wolf well you can't possible mess it up I mean it has what? 4 colors 5 sounds maybe .
My final thoughts of this are that if you want a 3d game like wolf doom duke.. This is the best one for the game boy by far.. Really fun to play..

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent legendary game, but dated, June 25, 2002
This review is from: Wolfenstein 3D (Video Game)
Don't get me wrong, Wolfenstein 3-D is an all time classic that inspired every first person shooter ever made, and now that its on the GBA, old school gamers will finally get to enjoy the game on the go. However, while this is a nearly exact port of the PC original, that is both good and bad. First off, the frame rate is rather sluggish. When there is a lot of on screen action, the framerate becomes slow and choppy, the same problem the Super Nintendo version of the game had years ago. Second of all, Wolfenstein 3-D will go vastly unappreciated by younger gamers more used to the Quake series or Half-Life. However, there are a lot of good qualities: the Nazi schwastikas are left intact from the original (which is probably why the game is really rated mature because there isn't much blood at all), and the small amounts of blood are kept red, not a different color as in the GBA version of Doom. All in all, the GBA version of Wolfenstein 3-D isn't bad at all, but with other first person shooters for the GBA like Doom, Eecks VS Sever, and the upcoming Duke Nukem 3-D and Medal of Honor, you should hold on to your money unless you really love this game.
