The pressure cooker is great for cooking some foods when it cooks.
Unfortunately, there is an undocumented E3 error that is common on these units. I had to google the error to find out what was going on.
There is a gasket that goes around the lid of the unit and with me (and several others that I've read about) the gasket doesn't seal right, the E3 error comes up and the unit will not cook.
I qualified for a free new gasket since I hadn't had the unit long... after much trouble I finally received it... used it a few times and...got the E3 error again.
Cooking isn't fun when the unit doesn't perform. (Isn't possible either...)
I think the unit would be good if it didn't have this problem....
I would avoid THIS pressure cooker in favor of another unit, or until they upgrade this unit to fix the gasket problem.

I love this cooker.I have been looking for a cheap and good quality pressure cooker and found this one.Non stick pot helps me a lot. Preset cooking modes, a delayed cooking function,a programmable timer and many accessories for its price, very reasonable but you cannot adjust or program the pressure digitally. Anyway, I have to wait how long it is going to last because I am afraid of digital controls.

We bought a refurbished model at a great price and couldn't be happier with it - have used it about a half dozen times. The construction quality is very good and its a stylish looking appliance. It's fast cooking and turns out great meals in no time at all. The operation is not real intuitive the first couple of times you use it, but easy once you figure it out. You do need the instructions first time out. We've made great chicken stock, corned beef, meat stews, lentils, and rice. And the warming feature is great - set it and go out, and your meal is ready when you get home. Very much like a slow cooker, but really FAST! The extras - a rice cooker lid, steaming insert, rice spoon and cup are a nice bonus.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! MISSING PRESSURE VALVE. I received a Wolfgang Puck Pressure Cooker as a gift. Went to the grocery store and put everything in the pot for red beans and rice and started the cooker ONLY to discover the pressure valve was missing and everything was for naught. Internet search showed the Pressure Cookers are often shipped without this part and it is difficult to order. This is cheating. The meal sits uncooked.

This worked for about 3 months before we got the error code E4. It would reset sometimes and sometimes it would not. Now it won't reset at all. Anchor is it's future use. Wolfgang you should have done better. Crusty would put his name on this too!

Easy to use and does what it says it will. Food is fast and delicious.I purchased mine at HSN.
Anyone getting an E4 code only means you didn't have enough liquid in it. The E3 code simply means the bottom of the insert may have moisture on it and it needs to be dry.
I have not had any problems with mine nor codes coming up. I found the answer to your code questions online.
The insert is great and releases the food easily. It is a beautiful design and the stainless steel on the outside cleans up like new.
I have had mine for two weeks and no complaints. The pressure release was in the box also.

Noted this new 7 quart unit has the same 'E4 code of death' as Wolfgang's earlier Bistro models. Google "Wolfgang Puck 7 qt pressure cooker e4 code" to see dissatisfied confused users who have suffered this sad fate. When you see this on the digital control you can throw the unit out according to customer service rep! 'Electrical problem, cannot be fixed, and they don't even know what it means'! The previous Wolfgang Puck 5 Qt. Bistro unit had the same code, and there was NO MENTION IN THE MANUAL of this or any code. In fact, there are often no trouble shooting notes AT ALL with Wolfgang Puck Pressure Cookers! I note the Cuisinart CPC-600 1000-Watt 6-Quart Electric Pressure Cooker, Brushed Stainless and Matte Black costs less and a Google search does not show problems with electronic failures/error codes. I may try that one next, or one that runs on a cook-top.
