5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Cuisinart CEK-40
Nice knife. I had a Cuisinart, but the switch became defective after a few years of use, so I bought a replacement --- different model number (CEK-40), but essentially the same. It died (same switch problem) after my initial use --- just trying it out. Amazon, of course, took it back without any hassle. So I got the Wolfgang Puck knife --- had to wait a bit, as it was...

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst electric knife I have ever owned
I've owned a number of electric knives from several manufacturers. My knives get a workout but I try to buy the best and consequently expect a lot from them. This is by far the worst I have ever owned. Maybe it was defective but I don't think so. It just doesn't cut... anything.

The first use was not an easy task - cleaning fish. Not only would it not...

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than Cuisinart CEK-40, November 11, 2009

This review is from: Wolfgang Puck WPEKF015 Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle (Kitchen)
Nice knife. I had a Cuisinart, but the switch became defective after a few years of use, so I bought a replacement --- different model number (CEK-40), but essentially the same. It died (same switch problem) after my initial use --- just trying it out. Amazon, of course, took it back without any hassle. So I got the Wolfgang Puck knife --- had to wait a bit, as it was announced but not released. The blades seem a bit long to me, but that is minor. It works perfectly, and looks really solid. I've used it about a dozen times by now, mostly carving roasted chicken.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the price, December 23, 2009

This review is from: Wolfgang Puck WPEKF015 Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle (Kitchen)
I recently purchased the Wolfgang Puck Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle from Amazon. It was the first electric knife I've ever purchased. I was tempted to buy a cheaper model by a different manufacturer, but after reading all the reviews, I took the advice of one reviewer and chose a more expensive model hoping it would be my first and last electric knife. I have used it twice in 2 weeks and all I have is good things to say about it. It is easy to use, comes with regular blades and blades for frozen food, has plenty of power and the rotating handle allows you to maintain a cutting position that is comfortable for you. I recommend this electric knife to anyone who has high expectations on performance. It's worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleased, May 23, 2010
This review is from: Wolfgang Puck WPEKF015 Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle (Kitchen)
I've had mine for years and altho' I don't use this everyday, when I do need it, it performs as needed. It has two sets of blades, one for more solid surfaces (partially frozen meats) and the main blade for slicing regular meats and cheeses or whatever else you can think of. The rotating body allows you to do horizontal cuts, for example, to butterfly a piece of meat that is narrow in height. Your hand doesn't have to twist in an awkward holding position.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wolfgang Puck Electric Carving Knife, March 17, 2010

The Wolfgang Puck WPEKF015 Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle is well built. The rotating handle provides easy slicing angles with much better cut control than knives with stationary handles requiring the operator to rotate the wrist to the proper angle. The blades are extremely sharp to facilitate quick cutting to the thickness you want.

1.0 out of 5 stars The worst electric knife I have ever owned, April 19, 2010

I've owned a number of electric knives from several manufacturers. My knives get a workout but I try to buy the best and consequently expect a lot from them. This is by far the worst I have ever owned. Maybe it was defective but I don't think so. It just doesn't cut... anything.

The first use was not an easy task - cleaning fish. Not only would it not cut through the bones on relatively small catfish (3 to 5 lbs) but it wouldn't even cut through the boneless part of the fish without shredding the meat. After pretty much destroying the first fish I went back to my old standby Cuisine Art knife. The blades are pretty dull on it after years of use but compared to the WP knife it was great.

I played around with the new knife, tried both sets of blades, tested it on a couple different things, and it just plain won't cut much more than hot butter. So today I packed it up and sent it back. I'm going to order another Cuisine Art.

I ordered the WP based on the reviews. That's the only reason I think maybe there's a chance it was defective. Amazon reviews are usually dead-on.

I'll give Amazon 5 stars for ease of returning something. That part was great!

3.0 out of 5 stars Safety Switch Too Hard to Hold Down, September 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Wolfgang Puck WPEKF015 Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle (Kitchen)
This is a nice knife, the blade length is great, as is the rotating feature. My one complaint, and it's a big one, I am afraid, is that the safety switch on the top is too hard to hold down. I got this knife because I injured my left arm and wanted to be able to cut things using my right hand with very little assistance from my left. Unfortunately, I have to try and depress the 'dead man's' switch with both thumbs, because I couldn't put enough pressure on it with one thumb to keep the knife going, let alone have any hope of guiding it through neat slices! I thoroughly mangled my roast with first attempt at using this knife. I may have to try and hold down the switch with tape or a rubber band of some kind, though I know that is NOT RECOMMENDED!

3.0 out of 5 stars Does the job but be careful, January 10, 2010

two sets of blades are nice. It cuts well. The rotation feature is okay but not really necessary if you arent wearing casts on your wrists. I used it so far to carve one turkey and one duck. The blades kept coming out or separating at the tip. Not fun to handle the blades in mid-carve, too slippery. I got a modest cut carving my Duck for the Rose Bowl. Not sure its worth the extra money but this is where we find ourselves today - always overcharge, always underperform.

1.0 out of 5 stars Wolfgang Puck ought to be ashamed, April 22, 2010

This review is from: Wolfgang Puck WPEKF015 Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle (Kitchen)
This is one of the most frustrating tools (kitchen or otherwise) that I have ever tried to use. It is made so cheaply and does an extremely abysmal job of cutting meat. I have tied to use it on flank steak and it can't cut all the way through the meat. The blades have fallen out a couple of times while in use. I recommend it only for slicing very warm butter. I finally threw it out and am going to try th Cuisinart knife next.

1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Disappointed, March 8, 2011
This review is from: Wolfgang Puck WPEKF015 Dual-Blade Electric Carving Knife with Rotating Handle (Kitchen)
I recieved a WPEKF015 as a gift, and it was defective right out of the box. Switch would not work. I called the toll-free number on the box, explained the situation and asked for a replacement. They refused to do anything without a purchase reciept. I explained that I did not have the reciept as it was given to me as a gift. I did fax them the proof of purchase on the box, but they would not accept. I am very disappointed in the poor quality of the product and more so in the uncaring attitude of WP's customer service. I would not purchase ANY WP product in the future.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Very disappointed !!!, December 18, 2010

The electric knife did not live up to my exspectations. The blades are to loose after you insert them in the handle. The head does not rotate very easily. I did like the way the handle felt in my hand. Also did not do a good job of cutting the meat. Overall I give it 1 out of 5 stars. I haved used this knife twice; once during Thanksgiving and the other at Christmas. During Christmas I bought a smoked ham and tried to cut it with my new knife and the blades would not cut the meat and when I hit a tough area the blades fell out the knife (very dangerous). I would not recommend this knife to anyone. For a name brand knife its a piece of junk.
