Big, sturdy, heats evenly, and cooks beautifully. I was amazed at how evenly this skillet browns things like pancakes, French toast, grilled cheese, etc. It does an equally great job of frying food.

The pan is thicker than the other electric skillets I've had in the past. It is removable and dishwasher safe, but it is so easy to clean that I have yet to put it in the dishwasher.

The frame/legs of this skillet seem very sturdy. This is important to me as I have broken the legs on my past few electric skillets.

I wish I had started with this skillet instead of suffering through several cheap, flimsy skillets that performed poorly.

Edited to add: I have now had this skillet for more than a year. I still love it. The temperature markings on the dial wore off long ago, but this didn't bother me as I didn't use them anyway and it didn't affect the functioning of the skillet.

I have had other electric skillets over the years-never one as good as this one.Holds a roast -the high lid is a big plus,fries eggs etc.etc. It is just one great skillet. It cooks evenly,heats up fast, very easy to clean.
Washes up with a squirt of soap and a plastic scrubby-no need for the dishwasher.
I may not need my stove top anymore.

This is a great frying pan. It seems durable. Non-stick for sure. Heats evenly. It got 4 stars for 2 reasons. First reason is that it is a HUGE piece of equipment and we find it difficult to fit into the cupboard, so, since we use it daily, it lives on the kitchen counter! Not a deal breaker. Second and very importantly, the numbers and markings came off the temp control thingy. The company replaced it with no questions asked, but only weeks later the same thing is happening. In case you are wondering, by way of cleaning we have only used a moist paper towel to wipe the control thingy off. Seems like it is defective paint. We will try again for a replacement and hope that they are willing, AND that they have rectified this problem.
Update: It is now August, and we only recently received our second replacement heat control thing. It took really long for them to send a new one. We are disappointed because it took so long that we have been in our summer home for 6 weeks before it arrived. Sadly, the frying pan is in Florida (and WP had a good six weeks to send it before we left.) We will have to wait until winter to see if this replacement was worth waiting for and has good paint on it this time!

I am so pleased with this skillet. I call it my magic skillet because it's nearly impossible to ruin a recipe with it. It's as if the spirit of Wolfgang Puck is in the skillet preparing the recipe (just kidding). The only drawback I can think of is that I wish the lid fit a little more easily onto the skillet. It does fit, but the rim of the lid is pliable and can be bent slightly. It's easy to tweak it back into shape though, so it's really no biggie. No appliance is 100% perfect, but this one comes very close. I highly recommend this skillet!

I purchased this item but when it arrived, a piece of plastic - the gizmo that you push with your thumb to detach the electric probe temp control from the skillet - was broken. The instructions inside said that if anything was damaged, to call the company, not the store. So I did.

When I explained my problem, my call was referred to a supervisor who politely said that the company didn't honor its warranty when the item was bought from Amazon because Amazon also sold refurbished units! Whaaat?

So, I explained my problem to Amazon which promptly arranged a no charge return pickup and a 100% refund. Now that's customer service! I wound up buying a George Foreman electric skillet from Amazon at about half the price that works very well!

I bought this product in Feb.I used it for one month and the numbers on the temperature dial worn off.I called customer service and they promised to send out another one.Well it took over 2 months to arrive.I used that one for about 2 weeks and the samething happen again but a new thing happended.The cord itself got very hot to the touch and it was almost on fire.I called customer service and they told me I did not know how to cook and should never cook on high all the time.I am a culinary chef and know how to cook.The company wanted the cord back,so if was shipped via Fedex for them to examine it and they claim nothing is wrong with it.I have used this product for only 2 months and it has caused me a lot of grief.I am going to dump it in the trash can and never buy Wolfgang products again in my life.

I purchased this skillet less than 1 year ago to be precise it was purchased on Feb. 26, 2010. I truly believed at the time when I received it that it was a good skillet. But now, less than a year later the coating is beginning to flake off and you cannot imagine how terribly disappointed I am now. I spent more money on this skillet than I had ever spent in the past on an appliance of this size. I thought the name alone would say it is a superior product. I have never abused this skillet.I never use metal utensils in this skillet so I could protect the coating but even doing that doesn't seem to have helped. I use the skillet almost daily. It also seems to me that the heating power has diminished. My daughter pointed out to me that the cord doesn't stay locked in place. I don't know if it ever locked because I never tested that but you do not have to use the push handle to remove the cord at all. So, now I have a skillet that I paid a lot of money for and I can't use it. I do not believe that the coating is good for us after it begins to flake off. I wish there were companies that made a good electric skillet without the darn coating. I love using electric skillets but once again the coating is an issue and it doesn't seem to matter if I pay 29.95 or over $100...they all do it. Disappointed in Illinois.

Over the years I have owned many electric fry pans and in a short time either the non-stick started coming off or they just didn't hold a good temperature or they quit working.

This amazing roaster/skillet/fryer does it all. It is the easiest thing to clean up, especially since you remove the skillet part from the base and nothing sticks to it. I mean nothing! I have roasted several turkey breasts in it and they are so good and quick to fix without heating up the whole kitchen with the oven.

I hope that the non-stick finish on it holds up well. So far, it is still the best!

I have to change this review. I ordered this skillet a year ago and wrote the above in April giving it five stars.

Not only did the numbers wipe off but if there is a thermostat, it isn't working. There are hot spots and cold spots in frying. It doesn't keep a constant temperature. The lid is too light weight and dented out of shape the first time I washed it.

The non-stick coating has held up well but I always wipe it out completely with paper towel while it is still hot, cool it then hand wash it by itself. I like the shape,size and clean-ability but it doesn't work well at all anymore.

Wow! I notice this morning while making pancakes that the dial numbers are being completely wiped off. How will I know what the temp is in the future? What a pain to have to dig out the number for the company an see if I can get this rectified. I will update after I do that. For the cost, this type of thing should never happen. While I really like the griddle surface, I still have the same dislike I have had with cheaper griddles and that is the heating coil makes the the temperature uneven in the pan and it cycles off and on. During these cycles, the temp drops lower and I am cooking with unstable heat. Maybe no matter what the price tag this is just the nature of an electric griddle.

My husband & I have always purchased the cheaper Electric Skillets that you can find at your local Walmart, but the GE products we usually get end up losing their non-stick coating where the burners reside within the skillet... And I've been tired of having to wash the whole machine! After meticulously searching and reviewing I decided to spend a little more than usual and try out this Wolfgang Puck model... I absolutely LOVE this new one! I love that the skillet pops out of the machine to wash separately! I love that the lid can be propped up at two different levels! I love that you can put up the "kick stand" (I call it) while cooking to make all the grease stay to one side when you make bacon! I highly recommend this product! It's worth the price of two cheaper ones just for the craftmanship alone! LOVE IT!!!
