4.0 out of 5 stars wolverine hd camcorder, June 28, 2010

This product is a cute little thing. I was looking for a new mp3 player voice recorder so this also came with hd video and 5mp pics.
If you want it for the hd/pics then you might want to look farther only because this product doesn't do well indoors (you need a lot of light), but it takes good videos and ok pics outside. It's easy to use. The battery lasts longer if all you are doing is using the mp3 player. It can use up to 8G micro sd card(I'm using kingston). You have to buy that extra. I also bought an extra battery. It uses a Li-on recharable battery. It comes with a battery, usb cable, adapter(for charging) hdmi cable, cd and user manual. It can be charged through the usb too.
I got it on sale for 89.99 so the price was good. It came with a wrist strap but the plastic piece to hook the strap too broke while I was trying to attach it. It is very small.
It came with arcsoft software so no problem reading the hd files, but the program is lacking. This camcorder does not work with Windows Movie Maker because WMM does not support hd files without a converting program.
I am running Vista Home premium 64bit and Windows Photo Gallery auto downloads directly from my card reader. Windows Media Player and Windows Photo Gallery will not play these videos but VLC player does and it's a free download. I always use a card reader.

4.0 out of 5 stars Its a small backup NTSC PVR for higher end cameras, May 20, 2011

Its a small backup NTSC PVR for higher end cameras

1 hour 30 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes per battery in the AV video in PVR mode.
39 minutes per 1.9 gig file. 640 by 480 res. It is kinda noisy interframe and will jaggy on high contrast lines. the video looses about 5% on the right side and 3% on the left, so it wont be a perfect backup of your video input, it will be exactly what the LCD displays.

about 2 hours 30 minutes recording per 8 gig card. You will want more than one battery for long recording runs.
The speaker will be on while it is recording in the PVR mode, you may want to cover it to quiet it down.
If you have a camcorder that uses alot of power on the side display, you can close it and have it off, using this camera as a viewfinder. The display is 3/4 aspect ratio, so you will need to get used to the change.
3 hours of audio only recording in voice recorder mode per battery, 44khz 16 bit pcm.. its a pretty good room mike.

You can plug a cable on the video/audio out of your hand camera and run the line to the mymovie in a belt camera holder to, its constant murmor will let you know its recording. very low profile this way.

Its not a great backup, but its cheap ($70 more for various other bits you will need from the manufactures site to use it this way, but you could get by with just the AV cable for $10), and any backup for something you can't afford to not have a recording of is worth it.

Use it for your daylies, and you know how much a pain loading all the tapes at the end of the day are.
Take a quick look at the mp4 file this thing makes instead. its also good for the clients who want to watch what you just recorded, again, not wanting to mess up your tape position.

3.0 out of 5 stars not all that I expected., June 9, 2010

This review is from: Wolverine MM100B mymovie HD Camcorder and 5MP Camera (Black) (Electronics)
I wanted a camera that I could not only take vidoes, but could hook up to TV and copy my old VCR onto. Found the camera easy to use, Battery life is only good for 30 minutes. The cover that cover the Micro SD slot fell off the first week. Would be nice if it came with AV cable. I am unable to pick up locally. I thought it would come with program where I could edit my videos, but that must be extra also.
