Other than that I am very satisfied with the boots, fit good, keep my feet warm and dry.
Fit like glove, very comfortable right out of the box and no break-in necessary.
This is my second pair of these boots and I am well pleased with them.

I purchased this particular model boot for it's specific features:
    a. Wolverine quality. This brand has always been a high quality product, although I feel that the move from American to Chinese manufacture has caused some quality control problems.
    b. Vibram Lug outsole, good for hiking in varied terrain, slip resistant, and durable. Vibram lug soles have been around for at least 25 years, and I have never been displeased with any hiking boot I owned that had this sole. Lug soles have one downside: they pick up TONS of mud if you are trying to walk through wet clay type soil. These soles are not as "hard" of a rubber compound as I remember Vibram being in my younger days, so I won't be surprised if they wear a little faster than I would like. On the other hand, the slightly softer rubber will probably be more slip resistant on slick rock surfaces like granite or limestone.
    c. Goodyear welt construction. More and more boots, especially the Chinese made brands, are shifting to "direct attach" construction, where the outsole is only glued, not sewn, to the upper. My last pair of Wolverine boots were made this way, and the sole of the left boot peeled off after only a couple of weeks. The only disadvantage of welted construction is that it can not be made absolutely waterproof due to the sewing seam. However, it is far more durable and reliable, so I recommend you stick to welted construction boots, especially for use in rough terrain, unless you need 100% waterproofing.
    d. Speedlace eyelets on top three lace eyes. Most 8" boots have these, but some don't; it is a personal preference thing.
    e. Extra-wide width. Not all Wolverine 8" boots are available in "EW". If you have very wide feet, be careful to verify the width before ordering.

My husbands last new pair of boots were the 9" Mammoth style with 1200 grams of Thinsolate insulation. That was more than four years ago, of hard use in winter, fall and spring leaving only the very hottest months without use. They were the best boot he had ever purchased. Being diabetic he doesn't have good circulation in his feet and they are always cold. Pair that with the need to spend a lot of time outdoors, winter and summer, he was not comfortable most of the time; however; with the mammoth boots and a pair of warm socks, his feet were always toasty warm. . .and the boots NEVER wear out! His one boot is just now beginning to crack on the leather upper, close to the laces. We were both very disappointed when we found out that the Mammoth boots were being discontinued. (I was disappointed too because I am the one who listens to the complaining when his feet are cold!) He just purchased the Novack 8"style with 1000 grams insulation, for about the same price.. Don't know how they will work out, but they look very much like the Mammoth. I just wish Wolverine would reconsider and bring the Mammoth back! Let me know if that should ever happen!

Very comfortable. Much better than the $200 boots that they replaced. My only complaint is that the tongue is sewn too far up the shank. I had to cut the tongue sides about 3" to get my feet in (due to extremely bad ankles). I would buy these again when the current pair wears out.

The construction and look of these boots is very nice. I wanted to buy a wide width but 3E was the only wide width available. I wore them once as is and my foot slid and jammed my toes into the front of the boot. I didn't want to repeat this painful experience so I put a wide width insole on top of the insole the boots came with. Problem solved. Now they fit and my feet don't slide. Having waterproof boots with 1000 g. of insulation should be more than enough for these northeast winters.

The boots were great at first until later when I realized that the material on one boots sole was harder than the material/rubber on the other boot, in turn make the boot much more slippery in snow/ice. I'm assuming that this is not a common problem and was just maybe a bad pair. Other than that I am very satisfied with the boots, fit good, keep my feet warm and dry.

I have worn these boots several times now and they are absolutely the most comfortable hunting boots I have ever owned. The first time I put them on they felt like bedroom slippers and they still feel that way. The craftmanship is obvious in every aspect of these boots and I only hope that they last for many years.

I have been wearing these Novack boots for less than two months, and the right side boot is already leaking water. They also fit VERY wide, almost like an EW (size 11M). I also get arch pain from these. Not recommended at all.

The boots showed up very fast, and they fit perfectly. Right away during the first use I found that the boots are water-proof; on my way to my deer blind, I got the wheeler stuck in a deep mud hole. The boots did not leak!
