When I purched the Wolverine unit, It came with only one slide holder and two negative holders. I have a lot of slides and negatives, so I reordered the trays and only received negative holders. My fult for reading but not seeing. The holders are a little hard to line up the bars with the frames in the negatives, so its a real hold up in gitting a good fast workflow. The slides are easy: Larry

While I'm finding satisfaction with what this digital converter can do the negative trays are a huge disappointment due to the poor matching of the sprockets with the frame opening. The openings don't match the film size and run off synchronization with the film placement by the sprockets. This has been pointed out elsewhere so I'm not alone. I thought perhaps there might be some oddity in the negatives produced in my old Olympus IS1 but I think not. The negative tray needs to be re-designed.
But you can make it all work with patience of moving the film each time you do a scan. Pain but ....?

I bought an extra 3 trays to see if it would help the thousands and thousands of negatives. At first it seemed to be a problem on lining up the initial negative to the small upward notches one half of the tray has. But once I was focusing the left side of the tray with the first notch in the negative film, I would hold the left side of the negative in the notch and then with the right hand follow the rest of the negative to the notches. It really is easy if you follow those initial instructions. After you have done a few, it becomes quite easy. Having 3 of these at a time, I can easily finished the 12 pictures/negatives. It is well worth it and I am wondering if I should buy 3 more but I am almost done with my ton of negatives.

These are perfect as backups. I now am collecting all my negatives of photos I took with my 35mm camera. I want to back them up onto my computer and then back them up again so I will always have them. It's fun looking at the negatives before digitals came out and remembering good times. Now I can collect them and download them. These Negative Trays are great backups! I started photography back in 1976.

The tray works as described. It took a short time to learn the best way to use the tray. Great way to preserve family photos.

Unless there are 2 people doing this, these are a waste of money. The ones that come with the base unit are more than enough.
