5.0 out of 5 stars The best Wolverine vs. Sabretooth in years!!
Return of the Native is also a return to a more `traditional' Wolverine story than those presented in Brotherhood or Coyote Crossing. Once again tormented by his past in the Weapon X program and lack of memories, Logan has to battle to save another runaway from the program, the beautiful and mysterious Native.

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so story; sloppy artwork from Robertson
Coming off of reading the two previous Wolverine stories (Brotherhood and Coyote Crossing), this story-arc was disappointing to me. I loved Darrick Robertson's art in Brotherhood, but in this book there are some VERY sloppy panels. The story is also nothing new. I really didn't like the Native at all. But, like another reviewer mentioned, the fight between Wolvie and...

This review is from: Wolverine Vol. 3: Return of the Native (Paperback)
Return of the Native is also a return to a more `traditional' Wolverine story than those presented in Brotherhood or Coyote Crossing. Once again tormented by his past in the Weapon X program and lack of memories, Logan has to battle to save another runaway from the program, the beautiful and mysterious Native.

The basic story line is solid, and Robertson's art is brilliant as always, but the true reason for the five star rating is the battle between Wolverine and Sabretooth. Never before have I seen such graphic violence between the two! It was brilliant, showcasing their true contempt for each other. And just when we as readers are able to almost accept Sabretooth as `just' another Weapon X program bad guy, he reminds the world what a truly horrible, rotten person he is at the end.

This is one of the better Wolverine graphics in years, and it gets my highest recommendations. Just a quick word of warning, the violence is VERY graphic and the mature topics make it unsuitable for younger readers, but for the rest of us, it's perfect!

This being kills the others in his party and puts the hurt on him, he finds wolvie and tells him about this being, and wants Wolverine to find it.

Wolverine does and at first they start to get into a kick ass fight , after a while (and clothing starts coming off,) Wolverine and Native recognize each other. The were old Lovers at one time and experimented on together. She had gotten away and become feral.

Of course they have a love time and she gets pregnant.. Wolvie wants to take her back to civilization but Native does not wan that she does not trust anyone except Wolvie.

Victor finds them and captures Native and takes her to a secret lab, where they harvest her eggs. Wolverine finds her and saves her, but she runs away to their old cabin in the mountains and Victor finds and kills her.

Wolverine of course goes beserk and ends up carrying her to Nightcrawler to get prayed for

2.0 out of 5 stars Goodbye to romance, November 26, 2004

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Wolverine Vol. 3: Return of the Native (Paperback)
Wolverine has found his perfect match (The Naitive), and as always Sabretooth wants to spoil his fun, by killing his girldfriend.

The story does not show anything new, we have seen better battles between Wolvy and Sabretooth, and like I said before she's not the first girlfriend on the run.

Naitive the caracter that gives porpuse to the story is far from original, as a matter of fact it's just another she-wolveriene wanna-be.

Wolverine has been drawn by some of the best artist in the field, this is far from the case, if you want a cool Wolverine (one with a costume), look for Marc Silvestri or Kubert.
