A real pro,
By A Customer
This review is from: Wolves of the Gods (Audio CD)
Bjorn Lynne claims he only makes his CD albums for his personal satisfaction; you'd therefore expect them to be self-indulgent, whimsical, and full of flaws. The opposite is true. Bjorn manages to be exciting and original without ever alienating the listener. He has tunes in abundance - even the guitar lines are singable. 'Wolves' is probably his best album so far. A heady mixture of ambient moods, cinematic soundscapes, and heavy metal. If you like none of these styles, you still may love this album, for there is no simple way to describe Bjorn's music. The last two minutes of 'Shapechanger' alone are worth the price of the CD. Yet there are sixty-eight other minutes to be entranced by. Be transported.

I just cant how much I love this cd. It's truly an experience. Just about every single song on this cd makes me shiver, with their unique emotions. Spending 1 hour listening to this cd is about the best spent hour I can imagine spending by myself.

Really cool progressive rock with keyboards and stuff,

Excellent! Music that tells a story (or in this case interprets one), a soundtrack to a novel. Lots of cool guitar riffage but plenty of dynamics and orchestral moods. Probably the only weakness is the percussion - the drums are kind of flat and sound too computer-generated. Having a real, live drummer would be much better I think. Overall, though, great music for any occasion - reading, working, driving, or just sitting and listening intently.

Best symphonic rock I've ever heard.,

This review is from: Wolves of the Gods (Audio CD)
I am a big time fan of symphonic rock music. I think that it is a beautiful and overlooked genre, and I hunt for new albums all the time. My previous favorite was David Arkenstone's Quest of the Dream Warrior, and I am also a big Mike Oldfield/Pink Floyd fan. Bjorn's music really has a lot of elements from all of those artists, but he takes it to another level. The percussion tracks are honestly the best I have ever heard, and the guitar work is utterly amazing. Just listen to a few of the clips, although he doesn't put the best tracks up for you to listen to... those are left as a pleasant surprise. Take a chance and order Wolves of the Gods. It's one of those albums where if you listen to it twice, you'll listen to it fifty times. Support the guy, he has managed to come this far without losing his music to a soul sucking record company, and for that he also has my respect.

A worthy follow-up to a great title,

Don't be scared if you've never heard of Bjorn Lynne before, this album (and the previous one) are in a class of their own. There really isn't a good way to describe this music, it's almost like a fusion of progressive rock, classical, ambient, Hollywood and RPG game inspired melodies rolled into one! Although based on the book of the same name, it isn't designed to be a musical representation of the story, but a composition in its own right, taking the characters and events and building upon them. The end result is a 70 minute trip that will let you really feel the threads within these books. Strong valiant characters, large battles, demonic wizards and love. Put out the lights, push up the volume, lay back and just listen (then order the previous album too).

I just can't start to say how good this album is. Even for those of you who have never heard Bjorn lynne's music, once you get a hold of this album, believe me you'll find yourself logging on again to order all his other albums. For me it was his compilation album that drew me to his own genre of music. Wolves of the Gods is an ambient yet full album of fantasy inspired guitar riffs, haunting melodies and timely precussion and the engineering of the album itself is superior in it's own right. A must have. I especially recommend "Queen Hantilia".

This album is the second chapter of Wizard of the winds and like this it's a great album. If you like the Electronic/Fantasy/Rock music you will surely like this, so purchase and enjoy. You are going to hear great guitars and orchestral arrangements in a very good way.
