2.0 out of 5 stars This movie had one good concept, June 21, 2008
By ReaderFanatic (Chicago, IL United States) - See all my reviews
I liked the concept about a pack of wolves being money hungry on Wall Street.

that's about where my enjoyment for this movie begins and ends.

Other than that, there were no real werewolves in this film. The acting was bad enough. Eric Roberts didn't do too bad, but that's about it. The plot could have been better and it had a stupid ending... really stupid ending.

And the homoerotica was just lame. I've seen just about all of David Decoteau's films and in all honesty, I'm never expecting much, except a bunch of pretty boys prancing around in their undies. But I will say this, if you're going to continue to make movies with homoerotic undertones, then be bold for once and actually have gay characters in your movies! Show a man/man kiss for a change.

2.0 out of 5 stars Interesting Beginning, Poor & Predictable Ending, January 9, 2007
Not being a werewolf movie fan, I has this movie sitting around for several months when I finally decided to watch it. The movie starts with a young, new college graduate moving to NYC looking for his first job as a broker. He has no experience, and after being turned down by everyone he goes into a bar and the bar maid points out some brokers and gives him the number to call them as she has had a relationship with one of the brokers in the past. Innocently, he calls and is offered the job.

He finds out he is in over his head with these guys, as of course you know by now they are werewolves. The plot to get out of the group and lead a normal life is very short, but leading up to that is pretty long but interesting. The last 15 minutes of the movie are 100% predictable and if there was just a little more drama I could have given this another star.

Acting is pretty good, cinematography is good, and the set is good. No complaints there, but the movie will leave you wishing you had chosen to watch something with substance.

Wall Street Broker wanna-be's and werewolf fans alike should enjoy this film. Warning: NOT for children as there are some racy scenes.

2.0 out of 5 stars Is A Werewolf Movie Totally Lacking any Werewolves still a Werewolf Movie?, January 5, 2007
My answer to the question asked in my review title is an unqualified NO! If your movie has no Werewolves in it then it is not a true Werewolf Movie. This movie has not a single Werewolf in it. The movie tries its best to be a Werewolf movie but all it succeeds at being is a overly long borning badly done movie about big business. This movie is not about just any sort of big business either. This is big business with a very lame supernatural plot revolving around unseen werewolves.

Problem with Wolves of Wall Street is that the movie does not really seem to know what it was really supposed to be. Wolves of Wall Street is not exactly about big business on Wall Street. Wolves of Wall Street despite lots of big Werewolf sounding talk is not reality about Lycantrophy (Werewolves) because nowhere on the DVD will you see one Werewolf. Wolves of Wall Street has nothing but shallow acting so none of the characters in Wolves of Wall Street is made real to a point where you exactly care about any of them. Wolves of Wall Street is not exactly an occult movie. Wolves of Wall Street is not exactly well done.

I could go on for years about what Wolves of Wall Street isn't exactly. The problem with Wolves of Wall Street is this movie that hints about werewolves is not exactly about anything in particular. Werewolves of Wall Street seems to have gone about its task of not being exactly about anything with a ruthless unflinching laborary percision that would make any devoted perfectionist obsessive conpulsive mad scientist proud.

Wolves of Wall Street is a Werewolf movie without any werewolves making it in effect a movie about nothing. Wolves of Wall Street actually excels at being a movie about nothing. I wonder why anyone would want to waste time watching Wolves of Wall Street when it is settled law that life never gives refunds on time spent watching this Lycantrophobic movie about Werewolves!

I gave this two stars because most of Wolves of Wall Street is in focus, most of the colors are bright and those few parts of Wolves of Wall Street NOT mind numbingly tedious is at least funny in tried been there done that ways. If you just collect Werewolf movies because you like them for its price Wolves of Wall Street is a good deal. I just enjoy collecting all Werewolf DVD's but trust me Wolves of Wall Street is not something I'd ever want to watch twice. Do like I did watch it once to be sure the DVD works as expected then put it on the shelf to gather dust. Watch Wolves of Wall Street when you have that house guest that has worn out his \ her welcome but you are way too polite to just ask them to leave. Wolves of Wall Street should have them running screaming to the door in moments.

Caution do not show Wolves of Wall Street to airheads or people like me because, I'd love it so much a second showing would be a must. My kind never get the hint!
