About the Author

Alice Mathews, PhD, is Distinguished Professor of Educational Ministries and is now Academic Dean of Women's Ministries at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She is widely known for her participation in the daily RBC Ministries radio program Discover the Word and speaks regularly at women's retreats, conferences, and churches. Alice earned a masters degree in clinical psychology at Michigan State University, a diploma in French studies at the Sorbonne (University of Paris), and a doctor of philosophy degree in theological and religious studies from the University of Denver and the Iliff School of Theology.

I actually picked this book up in a thrift store and wasn't sure how it would be so I was really surprised by how good it was! You could actually lead a Bible study from this book. It's in depth and you learn things about these women that you never knew before. People who I've told about this book want to get a copy and I plan to buy a few for Christmas presents.
