A system that works, with some additional research,
By
This review is from: Woman Heal Thyself (Paperback)
I found this book to be a mixture of practical, helpful information for laywomen to get acupuncture health benefits, and useless spiritual hokum. Clearly, the author has done some in depth personal research into her techniques, and I have benefited greatly from it. I only gave the book three stars, in part because there is a lot of nonsense in the book. There were several too many "miraculous" cure stories in the book for my taste, and far too much amorphous spirituality. Acupuncture works without all of that. Once you wade through that, the book is very helpful. However, the second reason that I only gave the book three stars, is the extremely poor quality of the graphics. If you have little experience with acupuncture, you MUST GET ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ACUPUNCTURE POINTS USED IN THIS BOOK. The drawings provided to help you locate the points are terrible, offering absolutely no landmarks to find the correct point. If you go by the graphics in this book alone, good luck finding the right point. I recommend reading this book, then visiting this website: http://yinyanghouse.discuss-acupuncture.com/acupoints/
which has wonderful, accurate graphics of the various points described in the book. With this additional information, you will be able to make this system work.

Look no further for answers to your women's health issues,
This review is from: Woman Heal Thyself (Paperback)
This is the book if you're seeking solutions to problems with conditions, diseases and syndromes of the gynecological organs. Jeanne is compassionate and very good at explaining what goes on, where it came from and how to fix it. She is open and honest, using her personal experiences to teach us how to heal ourselves. All of this is done without drugs or surgery. My husband is a practitioner of Oriental medicine. Through him, I've had an opportunity to study accupressure and the energy meridians. Jeanne's book is by far the best I've ever come across at getting this important information out to the Western public. Read it and start your way on the path of health.

It works!!!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Woman Heal Thyself (Paperback)
I was skeptical at first having tried several "alternative" healing techniques. But at 37, after years of a period that you could set a clock by, my periods became totally irregular. Bleeding before, during (excessively), and after. The doctors wanted to put me on hormones. I had a very negative experience with these in the past. Anyway, I tried this and within three months my periods were just fine. Little cramping, average to light flow. I stopped doing them several times and the irregularity came back. So now my copy is falling apart because I take it with me always. Although I don't agree with her pressure points as a birth control method or with some of her philosophies, the pressure points work!

A fascinating book about recovering feminine power within.,

After I read this book, I knew I had to have Jeanne appear as a guest on my TV talk show. I found the contents of the book fascinating; likened to finding a hidden treasure. We as a society give so "much of ourselves" away that it truly felt good to read something that could give one such a sense of empowerment. Thanks Jeanne for the research and insight. Pat Barnes

an important contribution,

I found Jeanne's book by chance. I am interested in alternative type of treatments. I was researching some books and her book was mentioned. At first, what attracted me was the idea of: taking charge of your own healing process. After reading the book, I have found in its pages not only that kind of knowledge but also wisdom.
Nowadays, it is easier to find books on: energy healing, energy medicine, alternative therapies and related topics. It is difficult to find books that give you the opportunity to recognize that in a healing process one of the main actors must be "your Self". Jeanne helps you to recognize this by discussing not only her own healing process but also by providing stories that show how healing comes from within. The ancient healing system discussed in Jeanne's book has been analyzed in other books as well under titles referring to Chinese therapies, energy medicine, acupressure and so on. However, if you want a good and simple introduction to this ancient healing system particularly applied to women health difficulties and illness, you will find that information in this book. Those readers who have experience on these topics can also benefit from this book since it provides a different perspective on the use of the forbidden pregnancy Chinese acuppresure points. It also provides a method for working and using these points in a healing process. I am using that method to deal with allergies that I have suffered from childhood. From the beginning, I have experienced a relief in many allergy symptoms which suggest that by using those points I can more effectively deal with my allergies. Finally, "Woman heal thyself" is a book that could help women in being aware of their own healing capabilities and knowledge. A knowledge that in the past was not uncommon and was practiced with dignity, compassion and love by those women who began searching for answers like Jeanne.

This book is terrific, if you want to get to know yourself more, and be your own healer. This book is a good companion, a voice of wisdom and comfort, with information to take you through menopause pms, and any rough time of your life. Very thorough, reliable information, although I had to tailor it to myself, because I didn't put in the time to learn the subtleties of Traditional Chinese Medicine and to do the massages on a daily basis. I have loaned it out numerous times. This is my second copy. I have used these massage tips for the last 12 years, going back to the pages of the book over and over again.

This is a wonderful book. I should start by saying that I am a guy, so a lot of the content doesn't apply to me. The chapters on the basics of chinese medicine were illuminating tho. I have read a bit about five element theory and found many of the texts difficult to connect with. Miss Blum's book offers a model for five element theory that speaks to a western mindset and shows how the layman can connect the emotional side of health with the physical side. Her portrayal of the cycle of energy is illuminating and has forced me to really value a holistic health approach in a new light. Also I can see how imbalances in different parts of my physical/emotional world affect other parts of the whole. Many thanks!
