4.0 out of 5 stars Death poses a promising journey!
The title is ever so subtle. The reader has no idea of the vastness of insight into the afterlife this book will introduce them to. "Woman Of Light" is captivating, enchanting, romantic; all at the same time. What we are; why we are here becomes clear as every page turns. 2.0 out of 5 stars Sickeningly sweet
I'm very interested in the afterlife. I've read many books, by psychologist/hypnotist Michael Newton, by the Michael Spirits mediums, and others. I was hoping that this book would have something significant to add to the conversation.

The title is ever so subtle. The reader has no idea of the vastness of insight into the afterlife this book will introduce them to. "Woman Of Light" is captivating, enchanting, romantic; all at the same time. What we are; why we are here becomes clear as every page turns. I was swept away by a sea of emotions as I became engrossed with the journey taken by Walter Stillman.
Walter and Carolyn Stillman think their love for each other is total and complete until they meet again. In the afterlife, they experience new spiritual levels of growth as well as reach new heights of love and understanding. Walter's travels and learning process throughout the novel depict a sensible approach to what the afterlife holds for us. This book is thought provoking. It tests our understanding of love and being monogamous. The author shows us that God's love for us is benevolent, consuming and everlasting. What is described as the afterlife may be fantasy or the closest interpretation of what the afterlife holds for us. But,if there is an afterlife; I truly hope it will be just as Andrew Summerville has written.

It does have one good concept, that we have a soul mate in the afterlife who is not our current spouse. This soul mate is our eternal spouse. It's a romantic concept and I'd like to believe it. I think that we share love with more than one person in the afterlife, even if we have an eternal spouse.

Aside from that, this book is frustratingly sweet. Sickeningly sweet. I can't recommend it. It is just way too nicey nice. May as well get out the harps. I believe that the afterlife is much more vibrant and exciting than this book indicates. Throughout most of the book, the only thing we get is just how nicey nice it all is. Yukkk.

4.0 out of 5 stars What an afterlife!, September 10, 2006

This review is from: Woman Of Light: The Afterlife (Paperback)
Woman of light is not your ordinary book about the afterlife. It is an adventure of a particular man, Walter, in the afterlife and it is surprisingly sensual. This is not the normal viewpoint held by most theologians but it is a book that makes you WANT to go to heaven. While I certainly don't think it is a clear picture of the afterlife there are certainly great elements to the book that make you look forward to the afterlife and the goodness of God. It is a book you can't put down. Certainly it will give a person (who is in the right relationship with God) a desire to get on into the afterlife. For much more detail on heaven and the afterlife I would also point to books by Randy Alcorn: Deadline, Dominion, Heaven, Safely Home, The Treasure Principle, Edge of Eternity. Also, C.S. Lewis' The Great Divorce is another great book on Heaven.

I'm looking forward to more books by A. Summerville.
