I still can't grasp why this vocalist can put out great music and not get the recognition that she so deserves. Maysa's vocals continue to be consistent and yet a fresh sound. Women in Love title suggested that there would be some sassy love songs. Boy was I surprised. I love every remake on this cd. I pulled out my copy of Diane Krall's Willow Weep for Me and in comparison to Maysa's version I'm leaning towards Maysa's. Her interpretation of this classic is nice. She puts a fresh soulful sound on this jazz track. Lady in My Life takes me away, leaving me breathless. If I wasn't a fan of Michael Jackson I would have sworn this song was written for Maysa. Again she takes a song and makes it her own. Her voice resonates a soulful heartfelt blues like many jazz divas of our era.

Honey Bee is a playful song. I could see this track being played in some major advertisement. It's a very catchy and fun tune. Round Midnight takes me back. It has a hint of 70s funk with a touch of The Crusaders. It starts with this cool blues trumpet solo blended in with a melodic string ensemble then the vocals joking play around the melody in Maysa cheeky interpretation of another classic jazz standard. One of my favorite tracks is Am I Wrong? I love it. It has a cool Brazilian rhythm and a lot of scatting. This cd would not be complete if we didn't hear one R&B soul song. Oh but it gets sweeter when Maysa invites Will Downing to do a duet. Love Theory is definitely one of those classic songs that will get constant airplay and many rotations at every family gathering.

Maysa continues to grabs my attention with her sound. I like how she fuses jazz and R&B. This cd is definitely one to add to your music collection.

Maysa soothes your soul with her current cool smooth jazz release, "A Woman In Love". Her beautiful vocal gift is graciously exhibited on every track. Nothing seems compromised. She scats and modulates in a style that the great Ella Fitzgerald was known for. This is grown folks' music performed and presented in Grade "A" fashion. This 11-track set includes originals, covers and a delightful duet with Will Downing. Purchasing Maysa's music is always money well spent.

This cd represents some of Maysa's best work! I've been a fan since Maysa came on the scene with Incognito back in the 90s. This album is phenomenal. Her vocals are outstanding - I love the jazz riffs and scatting. The music backing her up can stand alone - some of the best musicians out there deliver for her. This is for real music lovers. No Auto Tunes here. I pray that she will one day soon receive the recognition she deserves.

It's disheartening that one cannot find her music in stores like Target. Best Buy in my area only had 2 cds the day it dropped. She deserves significant distribution.

I read Maysa's description of this CD and agree that it is full of beautiful songs but 'on not having the power over a man as described in "I Put a Spell on You" and not being in love yet'. The deliciously smooth delivery of every song makes me believe otherwise. You are definitely the epitome of a Woman in Love! Keep singing like this and how could a man not just fall to his knees. It was hard to pick a favorite on this one but standouts are: Love Theory-Maysa and Will Downing (now that's math I can relate to!), Spend Some Time, The Lady In My Life and When I Fall In Love. Great job, Maysa. Care to tour close to the Albany area?!

There are very few singers out there that you can instantly identify their voice as soon as you hear them singing, and Maysa is one of those artists. Her smooth and silky deeply textured tone is just pure music ecstasy, and over the years she has shown how diverse her talents are, and this latest CD could be her best solo project yet. The CD is a mix of Maysa's own interpretation of several classic jazz standards, and also several original jazz/R&B tunes including a duet with Will Downing. First, the standards that she selected for this project are perfectly suited for her voice. Standouts for me are " What are you doing the rest of your life" which was originally done by Barbara Streisand, yet Maysa's version of this classic tune just gives me the chills....just beautiful. Also the Nat King Cole hit "When I Fall in Love" just blew me away...I wish the song was longer. The other jazz standards she tackles include "Round Midnight", "I Put a Spell on You", "Willow Weep for me", and the Michael Jackson song " The Lady in my Life". All of these songs sound really nice. Now onto the original tracks, my faves would have to be "Love Theory" , which is a really nice upbeat duet with Will Downing, and also " Spend some time" , which is a very funky Upbeat R&B tune. The Title Track " A Women in Love" is kind of a sultry spoken word tune with Maysa doing some spoken word of a nice funky groove...very cool track. "Honey Bee" is a very trippy and smooth jazzy groove that has a great vibe to it . The First track " Am I Wrong for Loving You" is a nice upbeat latin flavored jazzy tune, and features Maysa doing her signature scatting during the song. This CD will have wide appeal, since it really crosses several genres, and it really shows just how big of a talent Maysa is. If you love "Real " singers and don't want to hear any auto tune or other gimics and just want to hear some beautiful music then you need to get this CD. AFter winning a Soul Train Music Award this year, Maysa's next award should be a Grammy or at least a nomination...This CD should help her finally get that Grammy nomination that she has earned for consistently being one of the best Female jazz/Soul artists around.....Go Maysa !!!!!!!

Maysa has to be one of the most under rated performer's around. I love everything that this woman has recorded, and her live performances are even better. This has got to be one of the smoothes Jazz releases of all times. I particularly love her rendition of the jazz classic, "Willow Weep For Me". She gives it a whole new swing like no other, and Michael Jackson's "The Lady In My Life". Then she jazzes it up with the classic, "I Put A Spell On You". I rate this album up there with the latest smooth jazz recording by Kem (Intimacy). When will she do a recording of one of her live sets? If there is one, I need to find it. Maysa just seem to get better and better.

We are truly enjoying our purchase. Maysa's voice is so smooth and relaxing. Our purchase of this product from Amazon.com was just as smooth.

You might say I'm biased! Maysa can never go wrong in my book and once again she did not disappoint! She has the most beautiful and sultry voice. You will love it!
