Drawn into the drama with ease..., November 25, 2006
This review is from: The Woman With Qualities (Paperback)
This wonderful trek into finding oneself newly is much like the style of my favorite writers, Patricia Cornwell, Sue Grafton, and Sydney Sheldon. There is an ease in finding yourself not "watching," but drawn into the drama and feeling all the confusion, loss, weakness - and then on to self-determination, strength, sense of character, and "oneness with whatever path YOU choose."
I am so very impressed. Writing truly is healing for not only the author, but us, the readers. My thoughts in coming away from finishing reading the book were quiet. Sarah Daniels made me sense that life is an ongoing process...to be experienced in all its forms. It brought to mind ideas by the channeled entity Seth from Jane Roberts. He said after a time in his many lifetimes, he began to find fascinating ways to die...just for the experience. That's a bit out of context, but I loved his ZEST for simply, and eloquently or not,...just being. It seems we people have multiple lifetimes in our own particularly stamped timeline in each of our life experiences. I felt this with Ms. Daniels'work. We grow from some, we choose change from others, and most importantly - if we're true to our souls and spirit - we make a difference.
This charming writer is "out there" with dignity. It's funny. When reading so many clips on the backs of books by famous people who are generous, but giving unrealistic evaluations of material because they belong to a "club," I would say that this book, itself, is a "signature" of the very likeable woman writer with whom you move forward and share. Comfortable in the face of life's obstacles and surprises. The heroine is a genuinely remarkable presence. The book touched me on levels that are not at all surface. The essence of her spirit (and also that of the author)coming through the journey of this book put a calm, deep-flowing sense of movement with evaluation, and yet no judgment. I will continue to think about it for some time to come.
The quote from Abraham/Hicks in introduction to the work was so strikingly on-point:"Be as happy as you want to be in a world gone mad...You get to choose - you are wise enough, smart enough, deliberate enough." AND the cover is wonderful. The drawing of life experiences running from the lovely blonde's hair and mind as a great waterfall into the pool of life as her body rests in touch with this mother Earth, suggests meditation, expressing a comfort with all that this pictures in memory.
I found the heroine's evaluations about people and their choices, marvelous and generous. I agree profoundly. When I rode the bumps with the author's "woman with qualities," I learned not only about her choices, but about my own.

Midwest Book Review - captivating, surprising, February 11, 2003
This review is from: The Woman With Qualities (Paperback)
The Woman with Qualities goes far beyond being simply romantic fiction. It speaks to the very human insecurities that trap us in defeated lives. Digesting the message of Ms. Daniels' captivating first book was a real eye opener! From the beginning of her novel to the unanticipated ending, I was hooked. Three months a widow, Keri Anders sells her home in Upstate New York and moves to Florida at the urging of a friend. From day one, Florida is anything but the land of sunshine. Keri is plagued with one setback after another, until an accident lands her in the office of Dr. David Chipperton. Curly hair and twinkling hazel eyes aside, his persona seems familiar. Keri is a poet, a writer, as was Chip's departed mother. She's delighted when the handsome doctor hires her to edit his mother's writings and mentor his own. Keri and Chip have more in common than her injury and his dreams of writing. Their spirits are connected through time, familiar and beloved. The fact that Chip is married to a wealthy socialite has very little to do with their relationship. Keri is well-read, intelligent and gifted. Chip sees unconditional love and commitment in this woman with qualities. How the author spins this tale of love between an insecure woman and her solace-seeking lover is what impressed me. Ms. Daniels writes well and kept me reading with delicious anticipation. Along the way, Keri's spirit gains the strength it always lacked and she becomes a woman capable of anything she can imagine doing or being. As I said in the beginning, The Woman with Qualities transcends romance. You'll have to read it for yourself to understand the secrets I chose not to reveal. I recommend it to mature readers.
