woman ruler,
By A Customer
This review is from: Woman Ruler (Paperback)
A delightful book about exceptional women through time and place, despite the fact that the odds were heavily stacked against them. I thoroughly enjoyed being transported to Ethiopia, India, Egypt, England and indeed around the globe in ancient and not so ancient times. I thoroughly enjoyed the first person accounts that pulled me into the personal Worlds of Elizabeth 1, of the Mayan Queen Xoc and Jingu of Japan. Reading the cultural history that follows each story, allowed me to appreciate just how exceptional some of these women rulers were. Great Job Ms. Sand and thank you!

Who are my ancestors? Where do my woman's genes come from? I want to know! Elin Sand's book of women rulers gives me insight into the bloodlines I am connected to. I was moved to learn about women I had never heard of who powerfully controlled historical events and times. Why haven't I learned of them before? Ms. sand's book opened my eyes to haow anthropologists and archeologists may have misunderstood and misrepresented historical evidence and by doing so determined our present from untruths about women and men in the past. It is about time we look with fresh eyes at where we come from. I am thrilled to have this book as an enlightening perspective. |
