This review is from: A woman of Texas (Hardcover)
Isabella Cordova was the proudest senorita in all of Texas. And for good reason. As a teen-ager, she had inherited the sprawling Cordova estate. Now, a woman in her twenties, she was as beautiful as the land she owned. She had much to be proud of. But trouble was brewing. This was the Texas of Sam Houston, a rough territory overrun by ruthless men whose hunger for land and power knew no bounds. Colonel Hendricks was such a man; already he owned everything in town....everything that is but the Cordova estate. Soon Cordova cattle were disappearing, the servants were being harassed, and a document had appeared contesting Isabella's ownership of some of the land. Then an English stranger arrived...Jason Rawlings...quick witted, not afraid of a fight. Isabella thought he could handle the problem for her but Jason's plans didn't include the fiery senorita. He was on a manhunt and didn't plan on being swayed to help the beautiful Isabella.
