This Book Has Holy Ghost Power!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Woman Thou Art Loosed: Devotional Guide (Hardcover)
I bought "Woman, Thou Art Loosed! Devotional" in 1999 at a book sale at my company and it sat on my bookcase for nearly a year unread and collecting dust until Thanksgiving 2000. At the time, I was in a spiritual valley, full of self-pity and doubt. I do believe God guided me to take Bishop Jakes' book out and read it. Sisters, I read it TWICE that weekend, and became renewed, refreshed, and redeemed. Chapter 16, "Dealing with Your Cains and Abels," was especially uplifting for me personally because Bishop Jakes showed how I was blocking my blessings by continuing to cling to the past and certain individuals in it. Bishop Jakes' spiritual gift, to tap into those who are hurting and need encouragement, is evident throughout this book. Buy it!

Compassionate and Insightful!,

This review is from: Woman, Thou Art Loosed!: Devotional Guide (Paperback)
The Lord brought me to this book to begin healing my brokeness. I have spent years searching for something to remove the pain and mend that which was broken. This book had a tremendous impact in my life and enabled me to release myself from the ugliness I felt inside. Immediately after reading this book, the Lord delivered me and crucified the core of my brokeness. I have freely and joyfully forgiven those hurts and feel like a whole new woman today. Praise the Lord! This book was truly a miracle and I plan to read the sequel; "Daddy Loves His Girls"

Is this what LIFE feels like?,

This review is from: Woman, Thou Art Loosed!: Devotional Guide (Paperback)
"You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free!" (John 8:32) Bishop Jakes has been blessed with the ability to crawl into the heart and mind of a woman and know what she needs to hear from the Lord. In all the years I have been walking with the Lord, I have never learned to listen to God's truth. Lies are so much easier to believe. They are comfortable...They become credible...They corrode your heart...They consume your life. This book shined the light on the truth of God in a way that I finally understood. I can now say, with great relief and gratitude..."I AM LOOSED!!!"

Refreshing, Renewing, Revival,

This review is from: Woman Thou Art Loosed: Devotional Guide (Hardcover)
This book was truly a blessing for the christian and non-christian woman. It is truly a book I will keep on my self for renewal. It's a book for the young woman who is seeking God's face in her life, it's for the middle aged woman who has been trough and as always gotten bruised, it's for the older woman who has seen God's face. T.D. Jakes has a ministry for healing, one that is truly in the healing of women. I thank God for him, for using him to touch broken spirits.

A Breath of Fresh Air,
This review is from: Woman Thou Art Loosed: Devotional Guide (Hardcover)
T. D. Jakes is part church pastor and part psychologist/philosopher. Or that is how he can appear in his writings and talks such is his knowledge of human nature and the inner workings of life and sociology.
The writings of T. D. Jakes are of real life stuff. Down-to-earth, common sense talk and the making of easy sense from rhetorical and complicated matters are a few of the watermarks of a T. D. Jakes book. His messages are geared towards hope and healing, filled with wisdom, empathy and love. Nothing is difficult to figure out or weed through while T. D. Jakes is at the helm. Just two sentences from a chapter of this book: "Sin is how we medicate the need we have for validation. It's how we numb our pain." He is unafraid of telling anything as it is. Jakes has a gift in seeing and unraveling the smallest threads with ease. A friend gave me this book after she found out how much I enjoyed another T.D. Jakes book. I plan to pass this book along to another friend and buy the rest of Mr. Jakes' books. This author is one of my favorites now.
