Unlike the first reader I did not think Iby Knill forgot too much, some things yes but nothing out of the outstanding. I actually wrote a reply to the first review, as I am not sure what gory detail they were wanting to read? I did make a typing error though, I said she was 12 when she left the camp when actually she was 22. I felt she gave a true clear story about her life before the war and also in Auschwitz. To wake up every day in Auschwitz and not know whether you will live or die that day must have been a terrifying experience. I think this was an insight of how things were, and I feel this book is a must read, so we do not forget. I did not find it depressing at all.
My daughter knows Iby Knill and she says she is very inspiring, even at the age of 90 yrs. old.

The only thing that annoyed me was that at the end of the story my kindle cut off the last pages and told me to down load it again from Cloud???

The first part of the book was fascinating but the second half, after her liberation, was not very interesting. Little detail was given to the realities of survivors post - concentration camp. The author seemed to be absorbed into a safe, loving environment from her liberation on which I don't imagine was a typical survivor's story.

I haven't read the book yet but did hear her talk on a radio show. She seems like a true inspiration and I look forward to hearing her story in full.

Interesting book about a Holocaust survivor and her life after WWII. The retelling of life in prison camp was vivid and detailed what people had to do to survive.

I wish the story was more specific about the historic events that happened during the holocaust. Seems the writer tried to dismiss a lot of her own feelings during those hard times.
