DRAMA WITH A CAPITAL "D!",
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Womanizers (Mass Market Paperback)
If you want a fun read that's a serious pageturner, you've found it. This novel centers around the friendships of three men--Ahmad, Max and Mike. Of the three, all of whom are married, Ahmad is the consummate "good guy;" the rest are truly womanizers.
Mike, despite being married to the gorgeous Mya, just cannot keep from chasing other women...and eventually, it catches up with him and his worse nightmare comes to fruition. Max is the "bad" boy. Rocking cornrows and dreams of managing the next hot rapper, he is married to Trina. Trina and her sister Nikita have escaped the ghetto and the projects in which they grew up..but Trina still has a penchant for soldiers--hence her love and marriage to Max. But Trina and Nikita have left their mother and their brother still immersed in the old life...and what is a woman to do when finds out that her man is screwing her mother? Ahmad, though the good guy who loves his wife Shay, has always had a soft spot for Mike's wife Mya. And Shay's reluctance to be a wife to Ahmad in the physical sense soon places him in a compromising position with the beautiful Mya...and perhaps Ahmad isn't quite as good a guy as we all think..... Chock full of drama, this book is one no reader will want to put down.... DYB

So Much Drama,
By
This review is from: The Womanizers (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was full of some serious drama but was very entertaining all the same. Dwayne made his characters pop. There's Mike - detested by most woman, admired by many men. He so did not deserve Mya. Speaking of which, how could such a well-educated & established woman be so clueless? Max - can you say yuck! Lessons learned the hard way. Trina was definitely a better woman than most. And finally Ahmad - can't blame a brother for being a man. Shay truly needed to get over it. Great read - would recommend to anyone!

Their Just Due,

Mike, Max and Ahmad are best buddies and are, by all accounts, womanizers. In Dwayne S. Joseph's THE WOMANIZERS, their escapades demonstrate why they have received this title.
Mike, a police officer, is married to the beautiful and loyal Mya but he is a player to the tenth degree. Mike's reasoning, there are too many women available to be loyal to one. Mike figures if he gives Mya everything her heart desires then his actions are justified. Max, who is married to Trina, is an up and coming record producer, or so he thinks, becomes involved with someone who is definitely taboo. Finally there is Ahmad who is married to Shay. Since the birth of their daughter six months ago, Ahmad and Shay have not had sex. Ahmad is a stand up type of guy and he cannot figure out why his wife will not have sex with him. Shay has her reasons, which she fails to share with her husband. Shay's dismissal of her husband sends him into the arms of another forbidden lover. Of the three, Ahmad is the one who preaches to the others about the errors of their ways, however Mike and Max are not into lectures and as long as Ahmad keeps his mouth shut no one will get hurt. Take this ride with these characters as their friendship is tested over and over again by accusations, deceit and betrayal. Are their relationships and friendships broken beyond repair? In the end will each man and woman, for that matter, heed the lessons to be learned or will they continue with their wicked and selfish ways? The chapters are separated by the characters telling their side of the story, which allows us to hear directly from the individual and not from a narrator. Dwayne Joseph writes with candor, humor and straight up ruthlessness. He leaves no stone unturned as he tests the bonds of friendship between Mike, Max and Ahmad and ultimately their wives. Turn up the Drama and Reap What You Sow,
By Dina Lewis (Washington, D.C.) - See all my reviews

The Womanizers was a very very entertaining book. Thank you Dwayne for a great read! I can't even say the characters are exaggerated because there are really some brothers that have a problem being faithful to one woman and there is drama that happens like what happened with ghetto Sharon, et al. and her immoral acts.
I love your style. Keep writing!

Two words - DRAMA FILLED!!!
It kept you turning pages to find out what was going to happen next!! Ahmad was my fav...Any man that put up w/Shay and her insecurities is a good man! It wasn't the fact that she was insecure, but the way she handled it by not talking to Ahmad...I think any man in his situation would have fallen into temptation...I'm glad he didn't go all the way w/Mya that is what made his character even better! Mike - smooth operator - He was worse than a dog...I'm glad Mya finally got a clue and moved on! Trina - Come on now Sista! Max totally crossed the line by sleeping with her Mother!! I would have left both of them behind!! I enjoyed every minute of it!! Keep up the good work Dwayne!!

Straight to the dirt.,

Ok this book was off the hook! Took me about three days to read. The character Mike was just a dirty dog! Instead of being a police officer he should have been the k-9 on the police force. I don't understand why his wife Mya did not leave him long time ago before she caught some deadly disease! He got what he deserved! Every dog has its day! Then there was Max he was married to a woman who accepted him for what he was absolutely nothing! This man was sleeping with his mother-in-law! It does not get any dirtier than that. If it was my book it would not be much to say about this Max character because he and my mother would have had a double funeral in the second chapter. Then there was Ahmed a good man gone badly by the power of an evil woman (MYA). Ok it wasn't all her fought but Mya where was the sisterhood at how could you do Shay (Ahmed wife) like that! You want to mess up another halfway happy home because yours is not right. It figures! Shay how could you cause so much confusion in your marriage because of your insecurities! You almost lost a good man. He is your husband for better or worst this character should have got over I am not having sex with my husband because I am fat attitude! If I was Ahmed I would have tried to divorce her. With holding sex for six months is against the law in my book! Then there is Trina (Max's wife) I have one question for this character what woman in her right mind would accept her husband back after sleeping with her mother? A desperate one maybe?????? Like I said Sharon (Trina's mom) & Max either a double funeral or buried in a position they were familiar with on top of each other!
Overall this book was a nice read but I really think that this author kind of draged it on for a while with unnecessary chapters. To much beating around the bush. Get straight to the dirt.

...then you will absolutely LOVE this book! There was so much drama I couldn't put it down and read it in 2 days.
The storyline is ala Carl Weber's "Married Men" and revolves around Mike, Max and Ahmad. Mike being the married player, Max sexin' his ghetto-fabulous mother-in-law and Ahmad can't seem to get some lovin' from his wife. Their drama filled story intertwines each relationship. Kudos to Dwayne Joseph on a great tale set in the suburbs of Maryland!!!

If you want to read a good book about realetionships then you should pick up Womanizers. Three friends Mike,Ahmad and Max. Two who were dogs(cheaters) to their women and One who was Mr.Right but his wife didn't realize what she had. This book has some drama that makes you say whoa. I recommend this book for purchase because I think we are going to be seeing a lot more of Dwayne Joseph. In A Dollar and A Dream this author writes a short story that was out of this world.
Also if you enjoy Womanizers then pick up Love's Game by Harold Turley.

I really liked it,
By Sexy Selena "Sexy Selena" (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews

I liked Womanizer's because it gave everybody's point of view and allowed the reader to be the judge and jury. The characters were real (somewhat) and drew me into their worlds.
I wished I could've given it 4 or 5 stars and I would've if I saw more devastating reactions from all of the low down dirty things that went on on Womaninzer's. The reactions that his characters had are far more dramatic in real life. I do however look forward to Dwayne's upcoming novel, due out in the fall, and hope he really gets down right ignorant with his characters.

Three men and their ladies,
By
This review is from: The Womanizers (Mass Market Paperback)
Mike, Max and Ahmad are friends for life. They've been together for a long time and they share their lives with each other. The Womanizers is a book about these three men and their relationships with their wives and other women.
Mike is the ladies man, a police officer by day who prefers to impose his own sexual sentences on women he meets who have committed the crime of being fine. One problem, his wife Mya sits at home knowing full well what her husband is doing while he's away. Max is the music mogul who is tasked by his wife Trina to pursue his dreams. She can handle the bills and encourages Max to do what he needs to do to get his business off the ground and running. While he's home all day, he has ample opportunity to pursue other romantic avenues. Unfortunately, he finds himself romantically involved with Sharon, his mother-in-law, and this quickly turns into an opportunity for blackmail. Ahmad is every woman's dream. He's an attentive, caring husband and adoring father to his newborn daughter. Unfortunately, his wife Shay refuses to provide him with sex and he's described himself as a born again virgin. At first he thought he understood her hesitation, especially since she has recently given birth, but as it goes on and on, he finds himself in the arms of Mya. Enough drama to keep you on the edge of your seat, you'll soon be caught up in the lives of these three men. A very quick read, though nothing really thought-provoking, I think Dwayne Joseph has done a good job of taking a snapshot into the lives of womanizers -- all of them -- and fleshing out the cause and effect of this kind of maligned behavior. |
