Womankind is an unexpected pleasure to read. It is rare to find a book that captures well-written prose and artistic photography.
Clearly the authors had as much courage in completing this project as the women they profiled.

One cannot help but be humbled by the women portrayed in this book. Quietly the pages in Womankind inspire all of us to do the impossible: to confront discrimination and prejudice, to heal our environment, to eliminate violence, to end poverty and injustice. While many of the women in Womankind are from the developing world, all of them happy and optimistic about the world and of life itself. Womankind, a real find.
