A great gift for your daughter!, August 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Woman's Guide to Personal Safety (Paperback)
I had the pleasure of meeting the authors at a book signing. I have been trying to find ways to get my 19 yr. old daughter to take her safety a little more seriously. She is a college student living on campus and is at the age where she feels invincible. I bought this book for her in hopes that if she hears it from two police officers, she may pay more attention. She loved the book! She has told her friends about it and has even scoulded me a couple of times for the careless things I do. Thank you for giving me a few less sleepless nights.

Recommended for employee safety seminars, December 26, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Woman's Guide to Personal Safety (Paperback)
This purse-sized book emphasizes the fundamental safety practices that so many of today's women either never learned, or have somehow forgotten. As I read it, I was very thankful that the authors didn't try to create some goofy guerrilla warfare manual that tells how to use an emery board as a weapon! Instead, this book imparts the same, sound, common-sense advice that I try to teach my students in my own self-defense classes. The most common crimes against women can be avoided or averted with the basic, practical advice in this little guidebook.

Straight to the point and easy to read and understand!!!!, March 16, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Woman's Guide to Personal Safety (Paperback)
I was completely impressed with this book. The only self-defense book I have read that gets straight to the main objective. These women officers should be commended for a job well done. I will recommend this book to all my female friends!! Write more ladies!!!!

A very tiny guide book or a very big brochure, March 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Woman's Guide to Personal Safety (Paperback)
The miniscule contents of this book reminded me of those tiny books you see at bookstore checkout counters. Nothing more than you would find in a handful of pamphlets at a police station. It's an assortment of tips like, "Call 911 when someone attacks you." I expected more insight, more psychology. From the other review, I expected real-life stories from which to debunk myths and glean profound insights. No such luck. It appears these police officers just threw together safety brochures they picked up here and there. I teach women's personal protection, and books like these are inspiring me to seriously consider writing my own.

Best self-protection book written!, November 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: A Woman's Guide to Personal Safety (Paperback)
The only book I have ever seen written by two female cops who have not only interviewed the victims, but also the perpetrators! An inside look at how women can prevent themselves from becoming a victim.

Keep your money., July 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A Woman's Guide to Personal Safety (Paperback)
I was very disapointed when I read this book. It looked great, with a beautiful cover... Remember this old adage : "Don't judge a book by his cover "? It is true that this book offer great tips, but there are the kind of tips you already know (even if you know nothing in the field of self-defense). This book contains no more information that the free pamphlets you can find in your local police stations. Self-defense is a vital subject : don't waste your time (altough this book is read in twenty minutes...) with this one. There are many other book about this subject you can find, and believe me, better ones for sure.
