4.0 out of 5 stars Breath Taking
This is my first time reading this book, under this title or any other. So I'm not sure of what the other reviewers are talking about. The author's writing was so realistic that you could feel yourself in the character's presence during the graphic and colorful scenes. This book was exciting and thought provoking. Not for the faint at heart. If you like the writings...

1.0 out of 5 stars DUPLICATE, February 6, 2007
This review is from: A Woman's Wrath (Paperback)
THE STORY IS GOOD EXCEPT FOR ONE THING. THIS IS NOT A NEW STORY, IT IS ANOTHER EDITION OF ANOTHER STORY BY THIS AUTHOR JUST UNDER A NEW NAME. I TRY TO SUPPORT OUR AFRICAN AMERICAN AUTHORS BECAUSE IT IS HARD ENOUGH TO JUST GET YOUR MATERIAL OUT THERE LET ALONE GET SOMEONE TO TAKE YOU AND YOUR WORK SERIOUSLY, BUT COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY IS IT THAT A LOT OF AUTHORS OR THEIR PUBLISHERS ARE RE-RELEASING BOOKS WITH NEW COVERS AND SOMETIMES NEW TITLES. THAT IS CONFUSING AND VERY MIS-LEADING. ITS ALMOST LIKE THEY DIDN'T SELL ENOUGH COPIES THE FIRST TIME SO THEY'RE JUST GONNA TRY SOMETHING NEW TO GET IT TO SELL. PLEASE DON'T CON THE VERY PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT YOUR WORK.

4.0 out of 5 stars (RAW Rating: 4.5) - United in Vengeance, May 1, 2007

This review is from: A Woman's Wrath (Paperback)
The supernatural comes to light in Denise Campbell's A WOMAN'S WRATH. Victimized as a child by the man she knew as her father and watched as her mother died trying to protect her, Serena Kowtow survived to become a well-respected judge in the Florida state judicial system. She grew up with a natural dislike of rapists, murderers and pedophiles. The only thing was, the judicial system was known for allowing many of them to slip through the cracks on legal technicalities. Serena could not stand to see this happen as her hatred for these types of individuals went unrequited.

Through her therapist, Dr. Cathalina Shekhar, Serena is introduced to a group of women who have the power to catch those who fall through the cracks and others who harm children and women. Within the group, Cathalina is the recruiter; Elizabeth lives her life as a confused hermaphrodite; and Cleopatra is the protector. They feel once Serena undergoes the potentially lethal initiation, she will become their leader and then they'd only need one more member to end the search and truly set things in motion. During the initiation, Serena is to receive a bite from the Brazilian wandering spider. If she survives, she is expected to become the "Queen Spider" of the group. They can then unite in a sisterhood of anger and vengeance to rid the world of those who would harm the weak of society. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned and they come under the scrutiny of law enforcement.

Campbell has written an explosively, shocking account of vigilantism laced with supernatural powers. Tired of being victimized and watching others go through the same; these women devised a plan to exact justice for those powerless to do so. Campbell's writing style is candid and the imagery very vivid. The sex and violence scenes are graphic and not for the faint of heart. This indeed was a page turner from the gut-wrenching prologue to the climatic ending.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hmmm...., January 4, 2007
This review is from: A Woman's Wrath (Paperback)
I can't stand when you can't get the plot of the story on line so I just copied this from another site so that you can decide for yourself....

Four women, led by the "Spider Queen," are determined to rid the world of men who damage women's bodies, minds, and spirits. These female vigilantes ignite a stream of chaos, leaving ruins of their destruction throughout their path to vengeance and retribution. This suspenseful tale of supernatural revenge takes readers on a fantastic thrill ride of sights and emotions.
