Product Description
The many contributions of women in both the North and South are presented in this program describing their roles on and near the momentous battles of the American Civil War. In addition to their acknowledged contributions as nurses, and their suffering as wives and mothers, their battlefield heroism is highlighted. Women such as Belle Reynolds and Kady Brownell marched and fought with their husbands through years of battle and suffered all the hardships of military life. Included are excerpts from the journals of two anonymous women telling us "What We Did At Gettysburg."

Bought for my college level Women in U.S. History course - a little cheesy (specifically the music which comes off a bit dated, yet appropriate), but my students liked to see the visuals of those we were studying in class. Decent quality. Worth what I paid because then I didn't have to put yet another slide show together on the comp. Accurate & covers most of the women one would need for lower-division undergrad classes.
