5.0 out of 5 stars Mixed up minxes, January 21, 2012
By
This review is from: Women in the Comics (Paperback)
The Midwest Book Review is talking about the 3-vol 2001 edition, listed in am.com under Women in the comics 2. This is the *original* from 1977, pbk 1980, and a mighty fine volume too - I review both editions over on amazon.co.uk - but due to the amazon mix-up it's difficult to buy *either*, let alone individual vols of the later ed, on line. Somebody tell somebody, please?

5.0 out of 5 stars A fine chronological review, December 16, 2001
A wide age range will delight in Maurice Horn's three-volume Women In The Comics series; they provide a fine historical overview of the changing face of female comic book characters and their makers, blending black and white reproductions of strips with new chapters and information on the latest strides made by women in the comics. The separation of the comics and their makers by era allows for a fine chronological review of the changes.
