Format: Paperback
Compiled and edited by Karen O'Connor (Professor of Government and Director of the Women & Politics Institute in the School of Public Affairs at American University), Women And Congress: Running, Winning, And Ruling is a impressive anthology of essays surveying and analyzing the political standing of female candidates and congresswomen. A variety of knowledgeable political scientists have contributed their commentaries ranging from concerns with respect to media coverage, to the implications of candidate gender, to the Hyde Amendment, to glass ceilings, fundraising efforts by female non-incumbent candidates, and much, much more, fill the pages of this insightful and very strongly recommended study for students of Political Science and Women Studies.
