Excellent book for girls interested in Science and Technology,

This review is from: Women at the Edge of Discovery: 40 True Science Adventures (Paperback)
I rate this book highly but do not agree that it is for Grades 4-8 unless those students are above average, perhaps gifted. An excellent resource for students doing reports on Women in Science and Technology or teachers making similar presentations. No pictures in the book (which would create excitement level for younger students) but a LOT of dense information packed in with bibliographies for further reading. I'm not saying dumb it down but there could be one version with colorful photographs and drawings (less dense text) for younger grades) while keeping this version (adding some photographs) for older students. Seriously, you could do a whole series of books by making each chapter a separate book. Why 5 stars? It's a good book. |
