Inspiring women for young readers,

This review is from: Women Explorers in Asia: Lucy Atkinson, Alexandra David-Neel, Dervla Murphy, Susie Carson Rijnhart, Freya Stark (Capstone Short Biographies) (Library Binding)
In ordering this book I hadn't realised it was aimed at readers aged 9-12 and that it is probably most commonly destined for school libraries. It consists of a short text about each of five 19th and 20th century women explorers, supplemented by photos and maps of the routes they covered through Asia. Whilst all of this information could be easily sourced on the internet, the hardcover presentation of the book renders it a suitable gift for a young person who is inclined toward adventure. I think it would also be suitable for teenagers - perhaps more appreciated than by younger readers.
