New Book on the Block! A real winner!,

What Color Is Your Parachute is the classic job-hunting tool - good exercises that make you think and hold you accountable. But they are also a bit blah and boring, and the religious commentary is a bit unnerving. There's a new player in the market that's getting a lot of buzz - Women for Hire: The Ultimate Guide to Getting a Job! I picked this up after hearing Regis and Kelly plug the book on their show. It's great! The tone is dynamic and motivating and the exercises focus on clear actions that you can take now. The authors do a great job of lifting your spirits. The anecdotes and feedback from recruiters and other human resource professionals helped me understand what goes on on the other side of the desk once my resume is received. I incorporated a number of the tips and tricks detailed and am now interviewing for my dream job! I highly recommend this book!

I heard about this book from Kelly and Regis when they both raved about it on their talk show. I bought it and I'm as excited about it a they are. It's everything they promised and more -- and it's actually fun to read which I never thought I'd ever say about a "job" book.

My sister ordered this for me a week after I got a pink slip. I went from being lost and feeling lonely, to completely motivated, relieved and ready to hit the pavement, so to speak. I have a road map and I can't wait to put it to work. I began worrying about being out of work for months to come, but I'm fairly convinced after reading this--which took less than two days because I couldn't put it down--that I'll be back to work in no time! Highly recommended for all levels in all industries!! Good luck -- I hope you're as inspired as I am to get out there!

As a career coach, I recommend this book to all of my female clients. Women For Hire includes not only practical strategies to get you hired but also gives advice on how to align your interests, abilities and passions with the right opportunity. Taking into account that most jobs are landed through networking, Women For Hire also lists pages and pages of women's associations that offer great networking opportunities no matter what your field of level of experience. This book is truly a great comprehensive job hunting guide for women!

I've been unemployed for months. I'd read every book on job-hunting strategies, and nothing seemed to hit home. But, after reading WOMEN FOR HIRE last weekend, I really felt this book was written for me! I realized that I really need to work on networking -- all the guys do it, but women just seem to avoid it. But this book gave me some great strategies I'll be able to do right away! Even though I'm really shy. The book proves that you can be shy but still be a savvy networker! As well, I learned about informational interviews and will start taking advantage of those more often. Sad but true: it's who you know, not what you know. Women: go out and read this book. You'll never approach job-hunting the same way again!
