A MUST READ FOR EVERY MOSLEM WOMAN!,
By "zexy" (fl,usa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Women in Islam: Tradition and Transition in the Middle East (Hardcover)
Salam!this means peace..but Islamic history has been anything but peaceful...and as always the women tend to suffer the most. For me this has been a very liberating book...coming from a very confused male dominated society. This book dispels away a lot of dust and myths about the status of a woman in Islam..I think that every moslem woman either she be of 16 or 60 years old..should read this..I know that somewhere in the pages of the book she will find herself...which shall enhance and free her life in a beautiful way...Naila Minai has interwoven the history of Islam, the personal lives of the women including the personal life of our holy Prophet Mohd(PBUH) in such a down to earth manner that it almost feel to the reader that he/she is experiencing it all in front of the eyes...hats off to her!

Aren't You Glad You're Not A Muslim Woman?,
By A Customer
This review is from: Women in Islam: Tradition and Transition in the Middle East (Hardcover)
This book explains the choices that Muslim women make when faced with the encroaching modern world. Still a valuable reference book, even though it is out-of-date.
