5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every cent. A must for all women who love the sea!
I ordered this book recently and am exceedingly pleased with it. Not only are the pictures beautiful, the prose is, too. I enjoyed all of the essays in this book. It provides such scope for imagination. If you can't live by the sea, then having this book is the next best thing.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great book, NOT for collectors of La Vie Claire, May 29, 2011
This review is from: Women and the Sea (Hardcover)
This book is beautiful and definitely worth owning, provided one does not own the series of magazines also by Claire Murray, La Vie Claire. Inspired by the beauty of the writing and photography in the magazine, I snatched this book up and waited for its arrival with anticipation.

The book is the exact same articles and photography from the magazines, with two small story exceptions. In other words, I paid a lot to have in book form precisely what I already own in magazine form.

If one was not an avid collector of the magazine like myself, then by all, order this book and be prepared to nestle into an overstuffed couch with a cup of tea. However, if you are an avid collector of La Vie Claire and are hungering for more like I was, you would do best to save your money and pull out your magazines.

Absolutely superb book. Delightful in every way. Knowing one of the women in the book I can say it is entirely accurate.
