A FITTING FOLLOW-UP COMPILATION TO VOLUME ONE, December 11, 2006

I bought this CD together with Volume 1 and, of course, both cost me quite a fortune! $85.00 for 2 double CDs! Although the cost of this CD was about $5.00 less compared to the $45.00 of Volume 1, it is still quite expensive at $39.99! Maybe the manufacturers of this CD could reduce the price so that more consumers can get to appreciate this product. Nevertheless, another set worth owning! This double CD contains some of the greatest singers of all time (not included in Volume 1) like Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Connie Francis, Doris Day, Rosemarie Clooney, Lena Horne and Shirley Bassey. I was pleasantly surprised to hear earlier versions of "End of the World," and "Johnny Angel" in this CD which I became familiar with when the late, great Karen Carpenter interpreted her wonderful versions in their popular "Now and Then" album. (Since both songs were in a medley, I even imagined if her brother Richard could unmix both songs into separate single versions and that would be possible with today's technology). Anyway, this is another fantastic selection of songs from different genres showing diverse singing styles of some of the greatest vocalists of all time.
