4.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a time for me, for recognizing the richness of me., April 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: On Women Turning Forty: Coming into Our Fullness (Paperback)
I think each age brings it's own lessons. The interviews of these women, of varying backgrounds and circumstances were delightful positive looks at what lies ahead. Forty(+) is a great age to be a woman. There is a real richness, indeed a fullness, reflected not only in our our bodies, our faces, but in our relationships. If you think you're going crazy, wondering why you are questioning things that were okay yesterday, if you are finding things vaguely unsatisfying but don't know why, read this book. You'll understand, you'll laugh, and you'll welcome this age. Coming in to your fullness is a pleasure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ages and Stages, March 6, 2006

This review is from: On Women Turning Forty: Coming into Our Fullness (Paperback)
The book offers thoughtful, well-written essays by a diverse group of women who share a focus on interior, intentional living and have significantly progressed toward self-actualization. Rather than simply bemoaning the passage of time and the onslaught of physical changes of the forties, these pieces manage a more insightful look at the creative, spiritual and emotional growth woman can achieve during this important, transformative decade, regardless of life stage. The stories these women tell are poignant, inspiring, interesting, vivid and real. I received a copy on my fortieth birthday, seven years ago, and recently bought a copy for a good friend of mine who turned forty in February.
