Finally a book about sex addiction for the codependent!!!, October 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Women Who Love Sex Addicts (Paperback)
I have read many books on sexual addiction since my spouse and I finally realized what the problem in our marriage was. All the books, until this one, focused on the sex addict and what he/she is going through. It was really good to understand the dynamics of sex addiction, but I needed more. This book has really hit home for me. It helps me to understand why I have acted "crazy" throughout his addiction. It is very comforting for me to know that I am not alone. I go to COSA meetings, Codependents of the Sex Addicts, and am seeing a counselor. This book is taking my recovery another step. I feel like it is helping me to heal!!!

Solid information, puts focus on healing, January 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Women Who Love Sex Addicts (Paperback)
This book has great information about sexual addiction, which so many people have an issue with but not many people know about. It contains a lot of details about signs of an addict (pornography use, acting out) and even more about co-dependents (most likely the partner of an addict). This book gave me a concrete plan that can be used when sex addiction occurs to someone you know and love. This book, coupled with Laurie Hall's book, was invaluable to help me understand the socially acceptable but devestating effects of sex and pornography addicion.

How women act to enable their sexually addicted spouses., March 21, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Women Who Love Sex Addicts (Paperback)
This book opens the topic of a woman's role in the sexual addiction of her partner. Even though it is written for women, it's applicable to anyone involved with a sex addict(man or woman). This book examines relationships founded on sexual addiction or discovered later. The authors advocate that a relationship can heal even if one partner is aware of the problem. Ideally, this book advocates a joint recovery, uncovery, and discovery of the problems that result in a relationship with a sex addict. I read it from my perspective as a man and found that it gives both the addict and the enabler insight into each other's perceptions and responsibility for relationship problems. Overall, a must read for a sex addict and their partner.
