Personal Handgun Course,

This review is from: A Women's Guide To Firearms DVD (DVD)
I enjoyed this DVD. It's starts with a woman (Lee Purcell) who's frightened by a noise while home alone with her young son. There's a gun in her house, but she doesn't know how to use it. A male friend & neighbor (Geoffrey Lewis) suggests that she get some instruction, she does, and the movie takes off from there. It's like having your own 1-hour handgun course in your living room. I found it to be smoothly paced, very informative without being overwhelming, and it offers clear, concise instruction on handgun basics. I didn't care much for the cheesy soundtrack at the beginning, but that's what mute & fast-forward buttons are for. Overall a good video with solid info for women interested in handgun fundamentals. Narrated by Gerald McRaney.

Don't let the title fool you. This is an essential addition to ANY household that keeps or is entertaining the idea of getting a firearm. Gives functional information about using and keeping guns, as well as marksmanship fundamentals and gun safety. Whether your'e a man or a woman, this is a must-have!-Ed

We just purchased our first family handgun (Ruger SR40) and wife and I are signed up for concealed carry class. We have been looking at a bunch of YouTube videos about handgun technique which are a great help, but I thought a video directed toward the gals would be useful and well received by dear wife.
The video is pretty old (circa 1987) and the big hair of one of the instructors is really funny now, but the information is timeless. Aside from the monotone dead-pan delivery by the two instructors (the actors do a great job), the video is useful and certainly worth watching. They do a good job of taking somebody with zero experience with a gun to a point to where they are safely shooting on the range. Dear wife thought the video was good and she wants to watch it again - to me that is high praise.

I did not try and reorder this again, figuring something must be wrong with the part numbers.
