High-Shaft Winter Boot with Lace-Up Front

The Hoodoo has a high shaft with a lace-up front for a custom fit, with pops of blue or pink on its oiled nubuck-leather upper for extra style. Unlike bulky traditional snow boots, the Hoodoo looks sleek and feminine. And because the lacing system is fast and easy to use, you can quickly get them on and go.

Cozy Lining and 200-Gram Insulation for Warmth

For cozy warmth and rustic style, the Hoodoo has faux-shearling lining that hangs over the top of the boot. And to retain heat around the foot without adding bulk, there's also lightweight, effective 200-gram insulation made with bamboo charcoal.

Waterproof Upper and Keen.Dry for Moisture Control

The oiled leather upper not only looks great, but also keeps moisture at bay, thanks to its waterproof finish. A Keen.Dry waterproof membrane provides additional protection against moisture without sacrificing breathability.

Multi-Directional Lugs for Greater Traction

To give you a steady grip on all kinds of terrain, the Hoodoo has 4-millimeter, multi-directional lugs on its non-marking rubber outsole. These lugs are spaced widely to "bite" into the terrain, giving you more dependable traction on slippery and uneven surfaces like ice and snow.

Metatomical Footbed and ESS Shank for Support

For exceptional support mile after mile, the Hoodoo has a removable Keen Metatomical dual-density EVA footbed that conforms to fit the contours of your foot for added arch support. Additionally, an ESS shank helps stabilize your foot as you move, minimizing fatigue, so you can go further, see more, and feel better when you get there.

S3 Heel Support

S3 stands for Shock, Suspension, and Stability and refers to Keen's unique heel-support structure. S3 is engineered to support the foot on impact which dissipates shock, helping to prevent ankle injuries.

Patented Toe Protection

Because rocky objects and debris can trip you up on the trail, the Hoodoo includes Keen.Protect, patented toe protection that wraps up and over the outsole for thorough coverage of the entire toe bed.

Keen: A Story of Hybrid Innovation

Keen began in 2003 with an inspired sandal design that combined comfort and toe protection. This radical design departure for sandals spawned the overriding Keen philosophy of hybrid innovation--striving to create new possibilities and to discover and implement original ideas.

Keen products put an emphasis on the joys of play. At the same time, Keen believes in the value of working hard to give back to the community. To that end, the company has partnered with non-profit organizations around the world to help get youth into the outdoors, protect land for its environmental and recreational value, and to give bikes to kids in need.

These boots are really warm and fairly comfortable.

I like these boots alright, but they fit strangely in the area that wraps around the heel.

I am a fan of KEEN hiking shoes, so I should have known to purchase their brand of boots.

There is NOTHING WRONG with these boots. First of all...when it comes to looks, I was quite surprised. The color of the Black/Deep sea boot was actually prettier in person than what it looked on line. Online, (and maybe its just my computer) the blue color looks like a baby blue. IN reality, though, its aqua. Like a really pretty (almost) emerald GREEN. And one of the things that I LOVE LOVE LOVE about the Keens (all Keens, not just the women's Hoodoo boots) is that they have very ROUNDED toes. If your feet are like mine, you will LOVE them. See, I have what I would consider "duck" feet. Meaning...I am narrow in the middle, and my toes are wider. It may be all the years of wearing sandals when living in Hawaii...but I find that my toes are really spread out and nearly all womens dress shoes that come to a point, or any athletic shoes that narrow in at the toes also HURT me. NOT the Keens. They are awesome. There is no toe pinching there! Also...I don't know if its just me or not, but it may be that the boot runs a little large. Perhaps it's because the toes are so rounded, it seems that your feet don't need to size up. There's plenty of natural room for the foot, so I suggest that you measure your feet on the KEEN website and take a look at their chart to figure what you need. And don't do what I did. When I measured, I tried to take the boot into consideration and gave myself more space for wool socks and what not. Don't do that. JUST go by the EXACT measurement of your foot and go accordingly. THEY seem to take the rest into consideration. Because I had to return my boot. I originally ordered a 9 and I had to exchange them for an 8.5. My exact foot measurement from the toe to heel (barefoot) fell into the 8-8.5 category.Read more ›

Like all Keen boots, these are top quality, beautiful looking, sturdy boots that will last for many years. They are at LEAST as awesome looking in real life, and as someone who needs boots that will stand up to wading through low water, I think these would easily do the job.

So why the 3 stars? Because I feel like they have one major design flaw that makes them completely unusable for me. Where the firmest part of the toe meets the park of the shoe where the laces begin, these boots are simply too low. As someone with high arches/instep (not freakishly so, most shoes fit me very well), I could not comfortably wear these. The very sturdy ridge simply pushes too hard into the top of my foot. It would likely cause blisters or numbness if I had to wear this during an entire hike, I was uncomfortable just having them on for half a minute.

So if your feet are of average height or somewhat low, then these will work perfectly I think, but if you have at all a high in-step, think twice before buying them.

Oh, and go half a size up. An 8.5 is normally great for me as far as length goes, I could even wear an 8 in some shoes. Reading some warnings here, and seeing that seam over the in-step, I went for a 9, and even in thin socks, I could feel the end of the boot with my toe. That doesn't normally happen unless I wear an 8, sometimes 8.5. I had the same experience with Keen boots that I bought a few years back.

When the boots arrived, I was disappointed how delicate (non-bulky) they were. I wanted WARM boots (for outdoor winter activities), and expected something thickly-lined and clompy. The boots looked too light-duty to me. On the plus side, they are stylish (as opposed to clompy) and they feel great (a good multi-purpose boot). They are also perfectly designed for walking -- a very comfortable get-around boot (the best I've ever worn). Once I tested them for warmth (for an extended time in the snow) I was pleasantly surprised. Even though they are not thickly-lined, my feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable. I am VERY pleased with these boots. Definitely in my top favorite purchases of the year.

My husband got these for my and so far I love them. They are stylish, comfortable and SUPER WARM! I can't tell you how wonderful these boots feel when on and how cozy my feet are! I have worn them with my skinny jeans tucked in and a big wool sweater and love the look. The only complaint I have - which really isn't a major one at all - is the upper fleece lining portion could have been a little more plush. It seems a bit matted down already, but that could be so that it will withstand all the winter weather they are about to take on. Overall love these boots!

I recently moved to North Carolina and so far we have had three major snow storms with 8 or more inches of snow. These boots are easy to put on and remove and have kept my feet very warm and dry while I've been out in the snow. They are also very comfortable.

I'm spending my first winter in SW Colorado and am so pleased with this boots. They are very comfy and warm, good arch support, great traction, and are water/snow-proof. I ended up ordering a 1/2 size larger to accommodate thick socks + sock liners. I definitely made the right decision there, as my normal size would have been too tight with the padded socks. I wear these with knee-high gaiters to hike in the deep snow, and just wore them with snowshoes for the first time. I was out for several hours with temperatures in the teens and came home with warm/dry feet. The laces are well-constructed too (a problem I've had with other hiking boots). This is my fourth pair of Keens, my first pair of their boots, and they definitely have a loyal customer here. Plus I got them a fantastic price!
