4.0 out of 5 stars Great boots
The boots showed up right when expected and fit great. They look fantastic. Could use an insole for more padding on the feet when wearing outside on rocky ground.

3.0 out of 5 stars 125-ZOLA, Color: Black Leather, Men's US Size 12
great price, good looking boot, but NOT meant for heavy use. the soles are not solid rubber and are glued instead of sewn, so they tear away from the boot easily. probably fine if all you are doing is walking around at faires, but definitely no good for long wear or stage combat.

I bought these for my boyfriend for renfair and he was the envy of all our friends! They went wonderful with which ever outfit he wore and he was comfortable in them all day!I'll probably be buying myself a pair as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good looking and a good value, January 8, 2008
The Zola boot runs a bit big in the foot, as I normally wear a 10 and these 9's are quite comfortable in both length and width. They are a bit narrow in the shaft though, especially if wearing them over a skinny leg jean. The quality is decent for the price but would be unacceptable if the price were any higher. I bought mine here at Amazon for $57. They do look good though and with a coat of leather conditioner they'll stretch a bit and also shine up the dullness of the matte finish leather. The grippy rubber sole is appreciated for outdoor winter wearing. All in all a good buy, quite comfortable for walking/wearing and I've received numerous positive comments on them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Looking, Didn't Last, October 12, 2009

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bought these boots for my character in the local Ren Faire. They looked great, came quickly and I was very pleased -- until the heel fell apart with 2 weeks to go of an 8 week-end run.

The local shoe repair shop wouldn't touch them - literally!!! He waived me away as I pulled the boots out of the bag I had brought them in, with a disparging comment on the poor quality - said he couldn't do anything with them.

There was not enough "lip" of material at the edge of the heel for me to tack it back into the heel of the boot, so I used some glue and wrapped a rag around it (a la Bender of "The Breakfast Club") and limped my way through the rest of the Faire.
Being on my feet all day, I bought a gel sole insert.

Bottom Line - They are great looking, they felt good with the insert, but didn't last. They do not hold up to long, active days. MAY be OK for indoor plays, of short duration, or a costume party.

My husband likes them and says that they are comfortable. That is good enough for me.

These boots lasted about 4 hours of light wear. The soles are poor, the "pig leather" started to rip and tear after light use. Spend a little extra and get a decent set of boots. Do not waste your money

3.0 out of 5 stars Vinyl?, February 28, 2009
The boots were fine for 5 performances on stage. My biggest disappointment was that the "pig leather" appeared to be vinyl. There was a tag inside one boot that had been cut out. I assumed it may have said, "man made materials." I will never know, as the company did not respond to my email on this issue. If you are looking for a boot that really looks "leather-like," this is not it. Spend more $ to get leather. If a "soft vinyl" look is fine, then this is what you'll get. But I think you can find a vinyl version of this boot for $35-$55. I really wish the co. had answered my inquiry on this topic. Just know that I think "pig leather" (in this case) seems suspiciously like soft man-made vinyl. Not even close to what a football "pig skin" looks & feels like...

I was amazed at how quickly these boots got to my doorstep. Upon opening the large shoe box I inspected my purchase. No flaws or blemishes found. I put the boots on and they felt great! The boot is sort of two-fold as far as I am concerned. I am 6'7" with longer legs (36" inseam) and the boot tops went over my knee caps. Since I am going to wear these with a kilt for my Scottish Guild Reenactments, I opt to fold the tops over to make a cuff below my knee. I have worn them around the house and they feel good. The price is very good and have told others in my guild. I love the fact that these folks keep the larger person in mind (size 15 shoes). Most guys in my group wear the moccasin boots but the largest they come in is 13!! I do think that I may end up having to resole these after a season or two...depends upon how dry I keep them. I am though going to treat them with mink oil to help keep them weather resistant.
