4.0 out of 5 stars Comfort and Support
I love these shoes. I bought two pair. An earlier review complained that these shoes run a half size small. So do my Nike shoes. I find these shoes to have a very comfortable fit. The insole has great support as well as cushion. I have a high arch and arch support is essential to prevent back pain. The insole easily slips out; nice feature for freshness. The shoes...

First of all, the shoes don't look at all like the photo. When I took them out of the box I immediately noticed they have a weird pinkish pearlized coating, like my daughter's Barbie sneakers. I wanted an urban looking brown sneaker like the photo - these look dorky.

Also, they are the least comfortable pair of sneakers I have EVER owned. They feel tight across the top of my foot and my heel slips out even though there is no way I could wear a smaller size as my toes are at the end of the sneaker. The material around the heel is very slick and even textured socks allow my heel to slip out. There is no way to adjust the laces.

As for the company, Comet Shoes, I will never order from them again. I had no idea that if I didn't like the shoes I would have to pay a 10% restocking fee because I got "free" shipping, in addition to having to pay for packaging (you pay an additional 20% for shipping them back in the shoe box without external packing). I also have to pay shipping, insurance, AND tracking. They don't even have a printable return label to save time and ensure that it goes to the right place within the company. So basically, I'm out $10-15 and at least 30 minutes of my time for absolutely nothing or I keep shoes I don't like. Comet Shoes, you will be out of business soon with these crazy policies. Shoebuy has a much better selection, great coupons, free shipping, free exchanges, and free returns. How very sorry I am to have made this purchase with Comet Shoes.

The insole has great support as well as cushion. I have a high arch and arch support is essential to prevent back pain. The insole easily slips out; nice feature for freshness. The shoes can be thrown in the washing machine. I walk several miles daily for exercise and these are the shoes I walk in. I also exercise in them or just wear them on days when I know I will be on my feet all day.

Comfortable, stylish, and quality shoes with the bonus of NO LACES to stop and tie or have to deal with during my workout (Jazzercise, Zumba, and other dance workouts). Good support both for my arch as well as for the outside of my foot. A really good product.

I really like the way these Rykas look, but I was quite disappointed when I tried them on. They seemed to be the right size, but my heel kept slipping out because you cannot adjust the tightness of these shoes!! They are slip-on's with elastic laces and cannot be adjusted. There is no way I could dance or exercise in these shoes, they would not stay secure on my feet. Even if they did, they do not seem very supportive. These shoes are for looks only!

5.0 out of 5 stars great sightseeing shoe, August 9, 2011

I wanted a shoe that would be good for pounding city pavement and hard museum floors in the fall. Black is versatile for a travel wardrobe. I love the way Ryka fits -- I have two other pairs: broad enough through the forefoot, well-padded but flexible in the sole. I find them true to size. I was concerned about the bungee laces possibly being too loose because my instep is low, but they are fine. Great to slip on and off at the airport. They performed well on a test vacation of four days with only minor breaking-in.

3.0 out of 5 stars needs breaking in, July 25, 2011

I ordered these shoes because I had another pair of Ryka shoes that from the moment I put them on were fantasticaly comfortable. I have very touchy toes, particularly the little toes and they dont like to be touched or rubbed. the other pair of Rykas had a large toe box and were perfect. This pair, the Kelly Ripa Training shoes did not have the good toe box. I had to work with them to push out the little toe area with a broom handle before I could actually wear them for any time. However, they are very comfortable now and I can wear them all day. I have a narrow heal, and the Ryka shoes work well with that.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad quality for price, July 27, 2009

I purchased this shoe for working out at the gym and wish now I'd saved my money. If I'd wanted a cheap shoe, I could have gotten the same quality at Kmart or Walmart for a lot less. The shoe fits small, at least a half size but maybe more and the laces are not adjustable. They just don't look very good once you have them in hand- they are very cheap looking shoes and cheaply made in my opinion.
