Who better than Wonder Woman to bring forward an important story like this one. All about abusive relationships, the writer brilliantly weaves together two different stories about battered women to help bring awareness to this all too common problem. I won't give away the storyline or include any spoilers. I think this story was handled beautifully, and I think every young person could benefit from reading it and perhaps many adults, too. So many men and women stay in relationships that are abusive either physically or mentally and sometimes the consequences go beyond just stress. Wonder Woman is the best female heroine I can think of to address this issue. Good job!

I grew up in a household with an abusive father, who beat the stuffing out of my mom and my brother and I every few days. His weakness was alcohol, which he couldn't handle, and it always resulted in a meltdown that ended in violence and trips to the emergency room. And there's never been a really decent way to showcase that, in our culture, aside from books and movies. My mom stayed with my dad for 11 years, and she always had excuses. When I saw this Wonder Woman story, it sent chills up my spine, because of it's powerful accuracy. And I found myself thinking, "Man! I wish Wonder Woman had barged in to save us all those years ago..." What makes this book so powerful, aside from the simple truth and shocking statistics behind it, is that it's something that is easily accessible to younger readers, to spread the word and get the message out there. This tale is woven together on two fronts, with a tale of abuse reaching back through time and the centuries, and one taking present in the more immediate 'now'. Both are great stories, and as another reviewer said, I can't think of a female heroine more suited to tell this story. The story was well told, and at the end of the book, there is a page of truly upsetting statistics, and a long list of numbers that can be called to get help. The story was hard for me to read, but maybe other people will read it and learn that there is help, and a way out, when such things occur. The story is beautifully written, and the art is great as well. I commend this effort, and what the comic is trying to achieve. But like the book says, this problem has been going on since the dawn of man, and will probably continue on forever. All we can hope for is to get the message out that there is help, and a place to go, and that people do NOT have to stay in this type of situation. This book is an easy 5 stars across the board. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Thanks so much for your time folks.

Sincerely, R.A. McDowell

After reading this book there is no doubt that you will walk away with a greater understanding of what women have to face and deal with in a man's world. I think that everyone should read this book. Not only for it's great story but also for it's great artwork.
