This song is just timeless! I LOVE Paul McCartney but this is one of my favorite Christmas songs. Its right up there with the entire Jackson 5 Christmas Album.

I love everything about this song, the melody, its message, its uniqueness. Whenever I hear this song, I reflect on my youth when my Mommy would play Christmas songs, and we'd gather by the Christmas tree making decorations and drinking egg nog. Hmmmmm, happy memories. I look forward to reliving the tradition of playing this song and creating similar memories with my children during the holidays.

"Simply having a wonderful Christmastime" does a marvelous job of killing the Christmas spirit. It evokes the "Bah,humbug!" of Ebenezer Scrooge. It's THAT BAD. Listening to this song for the first time, I lost my Beatles virginity. I was shocked--SHOCKED--that Sir Paul McCartney himself had penned this dreck. If there's a soundtrack in Gitmo, this is it. If the hero on 24: Seasons 1-7 wants a confession, he'll turn this on. The reason why Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Philip Pullman are atheists is probably on account of this very song.

Sappy. Annoying. Repetitive. It's a long and winding road from the glory of Magical Mystery Tour (Remastered) and long since the crossing of Abbey Road (Remastered) If you want consolation after being mentally traumatized by this song, be soothed by Revolver (Remastered) for your Rubber Soul (Remastered) by Sgt.
