4.0 out of 5 stars Outdated, but highly engaging, April 8, 2007
This review is from: Our Wonderful Solar System (Giant First-Start Reader) (Paperback)
This is one of those old but wonderful science books that doesn't talk down to the nine to 12-year old audience.

Obviously, the latest discoveries are not included in this book, which was published in 1983, but my kids loved it.

The 32 page illustrated paperback discusses the planets, the sun (a star, of course), the reasons that planets seem to shine, the length of time it takes for the earth to orbit the sun, and details about several of the planets in the solar system, and their myriad moons.
