This coloring book is amazingly incredible! You can color the exact Denslow Drawings and give them life! Beautifully adapted as well. It was AWESOME!=0) EVERYONE Should buy this book!=)

I bought this for my daughter who is almost three. It is a wonderful abridged version of the original story. While most kids, and adults, know only the movie version of The Wizard of Oz, this takes it's text and illustrations from the original...which is often quite different from the movie. It is a LONG read for small kids. I was hoping for more of a coloring book. This isn't it. The illustrations are pretty detailed and are more of an enhancement to the story rather than the main focus of the book. The pages do not look like an average coloring book. I could tell my daughter was slightly confused. After an entire life of me saying to her "We don't color in books" it would seem that with this, I was actively encouraging it. My eight year old son enjoyed shading in some pictures and enjoyed hearing the original version of the story. I'd say this is just okay as a coloring book. Even for older kids, it is much more text heavy than it is coloring friendly.

Much more than a coloring book, this is a wonderfully abridged edition of The Wizard of Oz with the terrific original illustrations. Great for reading aloud to younger kids. And I enjoy coloring the picture myself. I also recommend the Alice in Wonderland coloring book by the same publisher - my three-year-old will sit and listen to all 40-plus pages! An excellent product at a great price.

Do a little research and read reviews and most specifically browse a few pages onsite to ensure this is what you are looking for. It should be called Color and Read or something like that. I bought this for an adult collector so should be fine and very well-received. The nice part is the pages won't tear like many coloring books would. Paper is also white - not the grey color of true/cheap coloring books. The pages might just be too detailed for some younger children. For my purposes - it's a 5.

I did not realize this coloring book would have as much written text in it as it did. I bought it for my nephew's 3rd birthday, and it was somewhat advanced for him.

Our son loves the Wizard of Oz. He has several books, but he wanted one that had pictures and that was easy for him to read. This book fit the bill. He loves it. We got it for his birthday.

This is a very cute coloring book! as other reviews have stated it is both text and coloring. It may be a little too advanced for younger children. It will go well with the rest of my Oz items in my OZ room! Great price for the collector!

It's a cute little coloring book, but my 2 1/2 year old couldn't really relate to the pictures. She adores the movie and I thought this would be something she'd really enjoy coloring. The photos aren't realistic of the way the movie looks, so it's not very relatible.

I spent my whole spring break coloring the pretty pictures, and my mommy ended up throwing the book away, but its cool, because I am gonna get another one!
