This book was a rip off...straight and clear. It's just minor text and illustrations...it is NOT The Wizard of Oz. Don't waste your money like I did. Get a different version.
The picture on the cover of the book is not even close to what is on the book that just got delivered!! Don't be fooled. "Run Away.."

We own the movie starring Judy Garland... my 8 and 5 year old both enjoy that movie and are meserized by the whole tornado event and what happens thereafter. So, when I stumbled upon the hardcover edition at the library book sale, I bought it, and they couldn't wait to read it! The story kept them riveted! The funnest part was seeing what was different in the novel than was depicted on screen in the Hollywood version. I also bought some of the sequels, and the kids are begging to continue! L. Frank Baum sure knew his audience!

There are so many versions out there on the wonderful wizard of oz, or wizard of oz. This one wasn't a shot in the dark. I wanted the illustrations of the original book, and this books has that. I wanted the original story not the short story version and I have that too. The book is in paperback, and the print is large. It's not the first edition, but it's a good buy for those who want the original story and not the first edition book. I have read a few chapters and it's great. I am hooked. I have never read the book. Seen the movie. I am glad I have the book. I can't wait to read it to my nieces' and nephews. Five star excitement here!

There are so many versions of Oz. This one is a childrens book only a few pages, and contains mostly illustrations. And the pictures are beauitful. My niece really loves this book she is six years old. It's a good read for a kid. I like it because I heard this one is the best one to get and it's beauitfully done. I love it.

I loved this book and the illustrations is truly remarkable. Each image opens the minds and hearts of the viewer, enchanting them deeper into the story. I highly recommend this item.

This book was bought for my 3 yr old daughter. She likes to sit and listen to very long stories. I love the Wizard of Oz movie, but I love the novel even more. I thought the actual story would be more lengthy. Don't be fooled, 50% of this product is illustrations. I actually did not care for the illustrations. I think the colors are beautiful but very dramatic and scary art work. Not for a young child. I'm not impressed with the book or it's story. I give it 3 stars because I expected the story to be longer and better written, and the illustrations to be a secondary feature of the book. If you really want to read it, I recommend checking this one out of the library.

The book arrived in good order and it was a beautiful edition. The illustrations were exquisite. I could never have found such a deal anywhere else.

I love the Wizard of Oz books.... I just can't seem to get enough of them.... it brings your mind to a whole different world.... its great for young adults, teens, and adults.... I give it an A...

I still read this one whenever I have trouble going to sleep after a late night on the town. My hairdresser said the blue cover brings out the rich color of my eyes and hair, but I am not so sure about that.

Anyhow I know that this is one of Castro's favorite books and in turn it is also one of mine.
