"Wizard" is a valuable high school teaching tool.,

High school teachers who teach the Guilded Age Era in US History should be aware of the allegorical nature of THE WIZARD OF OZ. It works very well for illustrating the concepts and people connected with Populism (i.e. Scarecrow - farmers; Tinwoodman - mechanization of industry; Oz - Washington, D.C.; Yellow Brick Road and Dorthy's silver shoes [yes, silver in the book] - bimetallism; and so on). And, by the way, the "Harry Potter" fans should also read Wizard, just for the fun of it.
