5.0 out of 5 stars It's bloody brilliant !
(...) This release is just so damned invigorating and fun to listen to that I can't recommend it enough.

It's a "power pop" masterpiece, and the fact that all the songs run together make it a terrific "party" record.

Buy it, buy it, and Moe Berg, please reform TPOH and come and play in Phoenix, these suckers need something to wake 'em up !

1.0 out of 5 stars Is this a joke?
Just loved the TOPH album which I bought again used on Amazon. Nice to hear those great songs again that don't sound dated even today! Thought I'd take a listen to another one of their CDs that seemed to have good reviews. I thought that I was listening to a bad demo tape from some go-nowhere garage band. Everything is flat and cheesy. Songwriting is terrible. It...

5.0 out of 5 stars Underrated Classic!, July 6, 1999
By A Customer

Great, great, great! Too bad no one ever talks about this CD. I had no idea what to expect. I dug the cover art. Was I ever rewarded! It's just chock-full of killer hooks & harmonies. It also has a healthy dollop of humor. And it all runs together as one piece. Beautiful. Fans of the db's or the Beatles should check this one out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Looking for "I'm An Adult Now", May 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wonderful World of (Audio CD)
I heard a great song once called, I believe, "I'm an Adult Now" by Pursuit of Happiness. Is this the correct title for this song? Can anyone tell me the name of the album on which it appears? Thanks for your help.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pursuit of Happiness Fan #1, May 3, 2003

Hey, I have CDs of The Downward Road, One Sided Story, Love Junk and Where's the Bone! Moe Berg is a brilliant musician and the harmonies that this band comes up with are enough to blow me totally out of the water, and I am a self-professed musicologist!! TPOH is a band that, in my mind, never got their just success while bands ... came along with their "misery and death" approach to music and made fortunes. That whole thing ... Either way, ... grunge are LONG SINCE dead, long live TPOH!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliant pop/rock masterpiece from TPOH, April 27, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Wonderful World of (Audio CD)
This is probably the second worst TPOH album the band ever released - but even still, it's almost perfect in every way. This unusual, minimalist experiment of a record demonstrates singer/songwriter Moe Berg's uncanny ability to write witty, melodic, and wonderfully emotional songs that cover a wide range of feelings, themes, and compulsions. A must have for any fan of intelligent, funny, angry, bitter, and happy (yes, all of those) music - as are just about any of TPOH's underrated masterpieces.

4.0 out of 5 stars Whoa, is this LOVE JUNK?, February 10, 1999

As a proud owner of every TPOH album I would highly recommend this c.d. This album is filled with catchy tunes that you will enjoy listening to again and again. I always thought that it was such a shame that record labels do not jump behind this band and promote them because I'm sure they would be a smash.

Thought I'd take a listen to another one of their CDs that seemed to have good reviews. I thought that I was listening to a bad demo tape from some go-nowhere garage band. Everything is flat and cheesy. Songwriting is terrible. It sounds like the record company is forcing them to release something so they're doing some sort of "work-to-rule" plan to get back at them. For me this was simply unlistenable garbage that just drones on and on. Even saw these guys live years ago at Molson Park and they ROCKED! But apparently this was in the past tense. Crap. I'm so disappointed and especially concerned that so many people reviewed this so well. Makes me very suspicious about the bias and/or judgment of many reviewers in general.

"I'm An Adult Now" was on TPOH's album "Love Junk", which sadly, is out of print. I hope you don't end up dead in a ditch, with a head full of chemicals, like some cheese eating high school kid.
