More About the Author

Linda Glaser has fond childhood memories of snuggling next to her mother and being read to. She's grateful that because of this, she grew up with a strong love of books even though she had a terrible time learning to read. When she finally mastered it in third grade, she immediately grabbed a pen and pad and started to write. And she hasn't stopped since. She loves how time evaporates when she writes. She also loves the feeling of being captured by a good book and hopes her readers will have that experience when they open one of her hers. Please visit her website www.LindaGlaserAuthor.com

My multiage class of first/second grade students were entranced with the illustrations in this book. The simple format was easy for them to understand and allowed them to compare/contrast earthworms with other animals we have studied. It has led to a deeper study of the ecology and the beginning of a compost pile/wormery in our classroom. Best of all, the GIRLS were the best worm farmers!

5.0 out of 5 stars Enticing non-fiction for Primary grade readers August 1, 2005
Format:Paperback
Wonderful Worms is a informational and engaging non-fiction text for youngsters, aged 4-7. It has simple and colorful pictures. The text is not complicated and the reader can expand on it in many directions. After seeing this book, I am going to look for more Linda Glaser books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great first look at worms January 31, 2012
Format:Paperback
As an environmental educator, I have used this book to teach young children (3-8 yrs) about worms and composting. It's a perfect introduction to these little animals and their role in the ecosystem. Good illustrations, good story line, and accurate information (minus the fact it says they "eat dirt" but to toddlers, it's close enough). After reading through several collections of books around town (the zoo, school libraries, etc.) I feel this one has a great message and is perfect for small children. I also recommend "Compost by Gosh!" by Michelle Eva Portman.
