4.0 out of 5 stars It's difficult to call this derivative . . ., December 17, 2006

The rumors are true: Forgive Durden definitely evokes Gatsby's American Dream. This is true, however, for reasons that are only positive. First, GAD is so adept at mixing styles and whole genres within an album, and usually an individual song, that saying another band sounds like them is actually a compliment to their uniqueness. In other words, saying that Forgive Durden sounds like Gatsby's American Dream is saying they sound like no one else.

Another reason they remind you of GAD? They're lyrics are smart; and there's hardly any hint of broken-hearted suburban teenage angst. There are bigger issues at play here; again, much like GAD and, again, nothing but a compliment (if you want to hear the opposite, there are plenty of bands out there for you, i.e., Cute is What We Aim For, etc.).

Yet, it's the vocals that sets Forgive Durden completely apart. When FD slows it down a touch and the lead vocalist lays his voice bare, I hear Bright Eyes.

This is an impressive album. At worst, it's a bit derivate of GAD . . . and that, in my mind, puts them ahead of 99% of the bands out there. Pick this one up; these guys deserve the hype that some of their annoying label mates are getting.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like GAD.., May 10, 2006
This review is from: Wonderland (Audio CD)
Even though many people think they somewhat copied Gatsby's american Dream, it is not exactly true. There are definitely points that they sound like Gatsby's, but the singer is a lot different, and the music is a little more catchy. In my opinion, this album has a chance to be one of the top albums of the year, but they don't recieve much recognition so not many people are familiar with them. Every song on this CD is different and brings something new to the table. If you like to listen to music , then you might want to take a listen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, no doubt., July 4, 2006
This review is from: Wonderland (Audio CD)
Heard of this band a few months before Wonderland came out and checked them out on MySpace and PureVolume. When it finally came out a few months ago, I bought it immediately.

Fueled by Ramen does it again with Forgive Durden's "Wonderland". Definitely recommended for fans of Panic! at the Disco, Matchbook Romance, Gatsby's American Dream, and Taking Back Sunday.

If you're into punk rock, this is a must-have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Forgive Durden is a SMASH, June 29, 2006
This review is from: Wonderland (Audio CD)
Just saw them live again last night and they are awesome. They just need their fans to keep coming out and supporting them and they'll be fine. Great group of guys, making good music. We'll be seeing them again in August, maybe twice in one week, so we'll be promotin' and representin' for the month of July. Go Durden!
