Screaming Skin,
By
This review is from: Wonderlustre (Audio CD)
UK group Skunk Anansie make straight ahead brash but catchy Rock music and "Wanderlustre", their fourth, is no different."God loves only you" finds vocalist Skin alternating from feathery light to fiery following the song intensity. "My ugly boy" is a driving rocker and there's more where that came from; "Over the love", "It doesn't matter" (with a frenetic chorus), the Ska-tinged "You're too expensive", and "Feeling the itch". The groovy "The sweatest thing" reminds me of The Verve with its martial beats, while the pulsing midtempo "My love will fall" has shades of U2 (and finds Skin singing "I curse my love for you" - brilliant song) as does "You can't always do what you like". Slowing things down are the creepy "Talk too much", the acoustic "You saved me", and "I will stay but you should leave". Nice to have Skin (complete with her screech) and the lads back.

A definition of alternative music,
This review is from: Wonderlustre (Audio CD)
This is un-categorical strange music. Compelling at times and not boring or same-y but yet yields aspects that you've likely heard before if you are into this type of stuff. I like the melodies moreso than the vocals.
