About the Author

Father Paul O\'Sullivan, O.P., was born on February 7, 1871. After studying in Dublin, he went on to Rome, where he was ordained a Dominican. He then pursued a Lectorate degree for theology, which in turn prepared him for his future career in writing simple, profound books and preaching to the faithful. He is the author of How to Be Happy, All About the Angels, The Wonders of the Mass, Read Me or Rue It, An Easy Way to Become a Saint, and The Secret of Confession.
Father O\'Sullivan also founded the ???Catholic Printing Press??? and established the Rosary Association, one of several associations he created with the Church\'s permission. He wrote on and had a great devotion to St. Philomena as well. He died in 1958, on the Feast of the Presentation.

After you read this little book, and you realize just how special Jesus' name is, you will never again speak His name with anything but reverence. In fact, when you hear someone else saying His name out of frustration or anger, you will cringe.
When you realize just how long ago this book was written by Fr.O'Sullivan, and how amazing it is that people are still reading it, you know that there must be a reason.

A beautiful little book about a powerful topic. It's written in a simple way that is easy to understand, and thus increase devotion to this simple, yet all-mighty and divine prayer that is so easy to pray, and so great! I recommened this and all of Paul O'Sullivan's books!

Great revelation of the many wonders Jesus' Powerful Name can do. Great stories of past uses of his name when in need, and shows that whatever we need can be obtained through his Precious Name.

In this book Fr. Paul tells of the power of the name of Jesus. So few people know of the power and the meaning behind this beautiful name. Father tells us of the miracles behind the name and how we can acheive holyness just by repeating the name of Jesus over and over again. It was practically impossible to put down. Father tells us that the name of Jesus is so powerful that every knee in Heaven and in Hell must bend and touch the ground when the holy name is said. Father also tells us of how much the devil hates the name of Jesus and how he flees in terror when he heres the holy name. The book is a must read for anyone wanting to recieve Christ in a more spiritual mannor and who also wants to learn to fight the devil while doing so.

Next to the Bible, of course! And, with its easy-to-read style, its mere 45 pages, etc., it is far less daunting of a read! Also, it is appropriate for all ages and all faiths, and all generations. (It was first published in 1947 by a Catholic priest, who compiled these miracle stories from the Acts of the Apostles through WWII, so it has both a scriptural and a historical basis.)

After graduate school in psychology/counseling, I began a career in alternative counseling, utilizing forgiveness, prayer, the Word of God, etc. As it would happen, little white-haired ladies in my church wanted to assist me in my more Biblical approach to therapy by giving me various sacramentals, and yes, little booklets on the "Jesus Prayer," Fr. Paul O'Sullivan's "The Wonders of the Holy Name."

THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO!

But over the years, this book, rather, the "Jesus Prayer" it endorses, has become such a part of my life that it has redeemed me from depression, thoughts of anxiety and even, scrupulosity. It, more than ANY COUNSELOR OR PSYCHIATRIST, set me free of obsessive-compulsive disorder, selfishness and lack of love (for God, myself and others), which is why I used it for my students and counseling cllients. (Note: Always consult a physician or professional for severe conditions, but this booklet/prayer, when used in tandem with professional care, may augment and expedite the healing experience, let alone, transform one's life.) At first, I utilized this prayer very tangentially, but ultimately, very centrally, to improve my students/clients mental, emotional, spiritual and physical well-being.
